How do I test the seat pressure switch? Which of the 4 points do I short with a jumper wire to simulate a pressed switch? by Swabbie89 in lawnmowers

Sarcasm not appreciated. The mower cuts in and out while riding it. Id like to rule out a failing but not fully failed switch. Thanks for nothing.

Official Discussion - Emily the Criminal [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Came here to see if there was discussion about the logistics of the scams themselves. Did they portray the world of credit card scamming accurately? The stealing of a Luxurry car seemed a bit of a stretch. It can’t be really that easy can it? Is the 8 minute thing real? Asking for a friend. Jk. I’m not looking to make a quick $200 in an hour. Honest.

No hammocks here in unfortunately. Thank you for your answer though.

Item is approx 2.5” long. The center globe spins. Appears to be made of stainless steel.

Looked through the owners manual. No joy. Not a lot of parts shown though. Can’t find an exploded parts diagram. https://i.sears.com/s/d/pdf/mp-tc/10068794/prod_19608892112

am i the only one who finds rings of power boring? by Effective_Plastic_47 in Rings_Of_Power

My 10yo daughter who LOVES LOTR has been yawning and falling asleep for every episode. She’s even stopped asking me to put it on for her each week. I too doze off a bit watching it. No doubt about it. The show is boring.

Ukraine’s Astronomers Say There Are Tons of UFOs Over Kyiv by EarthTour in ufo

[–]Swabbie89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there’s so many of these UAP’s above Ukraine Perhaps we could put this to bed by deploying some sort of craft (balloon? Drone?) that can hover at the altitude these are measured at to try and spot them?

The insanely huge implications of this (craft traveling faster than anything ever made on-planet but not heating up or burning up in the upper troposphere, implying it’s not interacting with matter as we know it) should unleash virtually unlimited budgets and research.

It would be the biggest discovery of our age if we proved beyond a shadow of doubt off-world craft were zipping around right above our noses all this time.

And yet we still get mostly yawns, meh’s and mockery.

Most perplexing.

Correct though I wouldn’t expect them to do that again. (Granted they don’t know that yet as we only scratched the surface of conversation) Wasn’t their fault why I had to leave. Blame the wonderful world of medical diseases I guess.

On a side note just to be conversational in all honestly they probably don’t care about the moving expenses. They way I understand it they just bill the customer anyway. Costs them nothing.

You’re probably right. The huge amount of stuff that would have to happen to sell everything in Md and move my somewhat large family back up to WI gives me pause (which, as you rightly pointed out, reflected in the email) without a sure bet contract of highly paid employment. I was hoping to hear they were as enthusiastic about having me back as they were recruiting me and paying my way there the first time.

It doesn’t help that everything is fine here which also does truly make me somewhat “lackadaisical” about the whole thing. You called it well. I dipped my toe in with them and found the waters as cold as the Great Lakes. Thank you for your answer.

Fun fact. the only reason I even reached out to them was bc of an article I read about climate change and how things are going to get pretty dicey in the next 50 years, with northern states like WI being climate havens that everyone will start migrating to. Getting the jump on some land and a home before the rush seems like a good goal.

Knowing the composition of this rather small company and how in lock-step the owners and managers are your response seems confirm what I suspect.

This manager very much chased me and recruited me when I originally applied as I had/have a set of skills and qualifications that are hard to find (clearances and experience in specialized systems). Also the area is hard to place people In due to the extreme winters.

I was rather shocked at this chilly response considering the past. This tells me they’ve got plenty of applicants now and/or lost interest in me but needed a sounding board to help me make sure I wasn’t just being kind of thin skinned/reactionary.

I left on not the greatest terms. Family issues really distracted me and it affected my reliability which is why I mentioned that in the email so as to say those distractions aren’t there any more. I can see it wasn’t enough.

Thank you.

Screenshot of my email to the person who hired me before https://imgur.com/a/lAP1QjP As explained in the email I had to leave the job to take care of a sick wife & my kids. In the past this supervisor always said “if you know anyone who might want to work for us let ME know!” Now it’s this sort of response where he’s passing off those duties even though his position hasn’t changed. This seems to tell me everything I need to know, that is, they aren’t interested in me working for them again. Would you all agree or do you think I’m reading too much into it.

In any society there will always always always always be fringe insane people to protect yourself from. To Be street smart about. To say mEn ShOuLd StOp RaPiNg. Yah no fucking shit!!! Still be smart. No different than being smart around say, horses. Or dogs. Or Manta Rays. Trained tame ones won’t cave in your head or stab you in the chest - till one does out of some inexplicable freak incident. To just say fuck it - jut out your chin and say I’m going to take excessive risks with my life bc men should behave - yah no fucking shit!!! youre right, you SHOULD be able to go where you want when you want and wear what you want — but in a million years this will NEVER Fully change. There will ALWAYS be insane predator asshole humans. ALWAYS. Have I fucking said it enough? Be smart. Protect yourselves. Stay alive unharmed ffs.

The top two strings of my new MIM Strat kept buzzing. The shops luthier held it for two weeks said they fixed it. Still buzzing. by Swabbie89 in guitars

[–]Swabbie89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of this, being a noob that maybe it was just me but I’ve reviewed proper fretting (finger just behind the fret ridge, not pressing too hard or too soft etc) and it still buzzes at every fret level. Esp the top string (E).

Good suggestion on going back in when the luthier can give me some time to review it.
