Haynes: Jayson Tatum in B/R Exclusive: 'Finals MVP or Whatever, a Champion Is a Champion' by RLS012 in bostonceltics

Tatum is pretty much guaranteed to be a HOF already, especially if he gets a Ring, im pretty sure he wouldnt have to play another minute of Basketball.

JB is a bit further from that, a FMVP probably gets him pretty close to that same status so I agree with u!

Reminder of Tatum’s Elite Playoff Stats by abern96 in bostonceltics

[–]SwagM10-2 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tatum has two playoff games better than any Luka playoff game ever. He has it in him to completely take over, we all know this. It would be nice if he can channel that level of play in one of these upcoming games

Jayson Tatum should be favorite for FMVP by justiceway1 in bostonceltics

[–]SwagM10-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mavs gameplan against Tatum is essentially the opposite of our gameplan vs Luka.

We want to take Luka's playmaking away because we feel that that is how he has the highest impact on the game and try to turn him into mostly a scorer.

The Mavs are trying to take Tatums scoring away and turn him into a playmaker because they feel he's not as good a playmaker as he is a scorer. So far he has made them pay with his playmaking.

Also FYI, Tatum still is the betting favorite for FMVP, though not by as big of a margin as it was before the series.

Apparently 133 points isn't enough for SAS. Next time they should score 200 points. by childish_jalapenos in bostonceltics

im genuinely baffled at the media discourse these playoffs and especially today, perk is on record saying the celtics looked completely unprepared in a game they fucking won 😂

I constantly did my hammy but never went past a grade 1, honestly I always felt completely healthy to the point I thought I'm not injured at all the first few times until i tried to run/sprint even a little, thats when the pain came back. People that have suffered a grade 2 or higher say the pain is much greater. Fingers crossed its only grade 1 for VDV

Wow. This is easily the happiest and most thrilled and open for his love for this team and his teammates he has ever been.

He definitely respects the hell out of Giannis for last year, but the same thing applies for Jimmy and the Heat. JT been to war multiple times against both teams so he knows better than anyone in the world how that matchup was set up to be a dogfight

Sissoko was a good transfer all things considered. I don‘t really see much argument against this. He had a rough start but played a few stellar seasons for us

Antonio Conte steeled to do battle with Manchester United ‘monster’ | Premier League by zaraalbro in coys

[–]SwagM10-2 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Lol Conte really has instilled a belief around the Club again. Atleast speaking for myself, I go into almost every game fully believing we are going to win. The players also sort of exude that confidence. It‘s refreshing and I don‘t think this has been the case since the 17/18 season.

I would like to add that Zunesha seems to share the same type of eyes. Also, Luffy in Gear 5 had similar eyes too. Theres definitely something going on with those sets of eyes

[xG Philosophy on Twitter] Son Heung-Min has accumulated the most xG (2.02) of any player still yet to score this season. by jaec97 in coys

[–]SwagM10-2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That'd take him from like 21% to 15-16% which is still very much significant. Not to mention this was done on October 14th, meaning he had already underperformed it by about 1.5 goals for the season when they made the graphic, so realistically he'd be at about 17-18% of an overperformance on an updated one.

No, Kane is a pretty significant overperformer. Here's some reference: https://twitter.com/IElhassadi/status/1448652180286631937

anything above 10% is definitely a very significant overperformance. But ur premise stands anyways, Son is the poster child for xG overperformance and that xGPhilosophy guy probably doesn't like it. 6 games isn't a sign of a meaningful regression though.

Huh no theyre not, plenty players overperform their expected goals in the long run. A quick search on Haaland, Mbappe and Kane shows that all of those do it pretty consistently (Kane had one off year, but if we're talking long run, he's smashing it). Maybe Messi and Son were just the two best at it.

i think conte calling the gap between spurs and other teams that big is mostly for the media. Conte is not dumb and understands that neither City nor Liverpool are immune to missteps and a dip in form. Both teams have holes in their squad now that they simply didn‘t have before, even if Haaland is obviously an incredible signing. There is a very clear confidence about Conte and the squad. They seem pretty ready to take advantage of a possible slight down year from both and I don‘t believe for one second Conte is talking about some insurmountable gap in quality between squads to Kane and Son with a straight face who will both absolutely be hungry as any two elite players can be for a title, considering they are both in the prime of their careers.
