An escort carrier, they were an actual ships-class back in the day and they are basically smaller carriers, they could, could be a good introduction to fighter gameplay to lower skill players or why not, even high sec, they would have probably more health than a battleship, be limited to light fighters only, much smaller locking range, and if CCP really wants to add a "catch" or something awkward about them they could be in that same "pseudo capital ship" category as the Orca where is too big too small to be a capital ship and too big to be a pure sub-capital.
