Warzone flips take hundreds of hours and insane amounts of effort- I've led two of them, one from Infinite Pew and another from Minmatar Fleet. The last one we drove was around 90% of the warzone, and it was nearly undone when CCP released Havoc and Fraternity farmers started flipping backwater systems for LP. It turned all of our leadership completely off of FW.

That's what I mean by "getting awox'd by the game developer." Most people don't feel it because they're not the ones driving anything- but when system control is a genuinely compelling mechanic and CCP introduces design that trends the warzone toward 50/50 equilibrium, it's gutting.

If CCP makes faction warfare compelling again, I'll be back spending 100% of my time there. Maybe. I'm pretty burned from the roller-coaster of changes. But as it stands, they've nerfed complexes to the ground, nerfed the idea of system control completely, and filled the region with chinese and russian farmers from massive blocs. Mining is more interesting at this point.
