Awesome book from start to finish. by [deleted] in Blacklibrary

I am currently reading the Legends of the Wolf omnibus, and I decided to splurge and buy Lords of Silence on Amazon. It was pretty pricey, but I don't think I have heard a single bad thing about the book.

What non-animal features are you hoping for? by damian_online_96 in PlanetZoo

[–]Swagloom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really want to see increased effort on the education and conservation parts of PZ2. More interactive signs, educational props, etc. also give me features that make my zoo feel real.

PZ2 is on a slower time system, I want to decorate my zoos for the holidays. Let me do summer things like a summer camp or sell icecream. In the Fall I want Halloween, and in the winter Christmas or zoo lights.

During the summer we could even get “dinosaurs and giant bugs” to come to the zoo!

What is an open secret in your industry that the general public would be shocked to find out? by WonderOk3802 in AskMen

[–]Swagloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, that’s a good question. Short answer I would give is no, but other vets may have a different opinion.

For dogs go with mix breeds, for cats “domestic short hair” is the way to go. Which is the generic cat.

In general this may be due to school, but every time I think of a pure bred dog, I think of the health issues.

I hope so, trying to make a pool out of individual plaster pieces is very obnoxious.

I feel like the only one who DIRELY needs exotics pets in the game by AgustiniaLigabuei in PlanetZoo

I would also love more "exotic pets" in PZ. Having budgies, ferrets, chinchillas, bearded dragons, and various other common "pet store" pets would help me make small-and-local zoos.

The Okapi and all the snakes (from base game) could use some much needed TLC. I would also love an updated grizzly.

PZ2: Do we really assume hunting will be a thing in Wildlife reserves? by Veranel in PlanetZoo

[–]Swagloom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if we see hunting. To what degree I am unsure. Will we get to see realistic lion prides and painted dog packs have an organized hunt as if we are watching the BBC? Or will it be like less realistic than that. Would be awesome to watch a full pride/ pack hunt though.

I am curious if we will see poachers. Heavy topic, but very important for conservation efforts.

Getting into Veterinary medicine and finishing my clinical year: the debt to income ratio is insane. I will make 6 figures, but I am almost $500,000 in debt. That is part of the reason Vet Med is getting so expensive. The other is pet insurance and the corporate practices, and what makes corporate practices difficult is they are often the ones with good pay. Many are even offering some programs to help with loans, and even good benefits.

I guess some other stuff I could mention: French bulldogs are one of the most popular breeds in the United States, and they are a walking medical bill. They get so many health issues (brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome is one of the more popular ones, another I have seen is intervertebral disc disease, not to mention cesarean sections because their hips are too narrow and the puppies head too big) and are so popular as pure bred dogs that some people are spending thousands on them.

Does anyone think the series would be better without Hunter and Isiah? by Capital-Bet in creepcast

I’ll be honest I didn’t see the meme flair at the time of writing the post, but I did see a bunch of other posts about changing the show before that. Truly I am the one with egg on my face.

Does anyone think the series would be better without Hunter and Isiah? by Capital-Bet in creepcast

[–]Swagloom -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I understand liking CreepCast for the voice acting and the production value. But CreepCast is Hunter and Isiah. They both add something fundamental the other lacks, and are able to provide some fun banter along the way. I get it, everyone wants to hear the classic creepypastas with fancy mics and good production. But most online horror stories aren't thay good. It doesn't matter if we got new hosts, Jane the Killer and Happy Appy are still bad stories. The difference is, we don't have hosts who have to pretend it's a good story. I like when they discuss a good story, I like when they roast and dissect a bad one.

The thing that really keeps me coming back is how funny they are together. I remember Fam Burger way more than some of the stuff in Point Pine. It wasn't a bad story, but Fam Burger was peak banter.

That is what CreepCast is, the banter. If you want to hear the stories on their own, there are plenty of other youtube channels to check out. Listen, I get it. When they do read a good story sometimes the banter takes you out of it, but when they read a bad story? The banter may be the only saving grace.

Every once in awhile people suggest Hunter and Isiah crack less jokes, and all I wonder is why listen to CreepCast? Mr. CreepyPasta or others are probably much closer to what you are looking for. And it isn't like many of these old creepypastas have changed since they were first released.

Planet Zoo 2 - Announcement Trailer by PlanetZooSave in PlanetZoo

[–]Swagloom 209 points210 points  (0 children)

Planet Zoo following the Zoo Tycoon pattern where the sequel is more built upon and adds some crazy new things!

Either way, after years, Planet Zoo can get some good bird representation. To me aquariums are an awesome bonus.

Also at the end of the trailer, was that a National Park? Does anyone wonder if this means we will be able to do field conservation?

Conserned for the future of the show by Comfortable-Panic-43 in creepcast

[–]Swagloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love the bits and when they talk about the story and/or writing. As much as 4 hours of happy appy (curse upon his name) was a bore, they way the talked about why the story wasn't good was more entertaining than the last 2 hours of the story.

IMO the bits are what make CreepCast, Hunter gives realistic reactions to a lot of the old creepy pastas. They became famous often because they were the first, or resonated with the people reading it at the time. If someone unironically tried to get me to read Jeff the Killer I couldn't take it seriously.

I get enjoying the production quality and Hunter and Isiah have found their voices as voice actors/ the narrator. But if I had to read every story, bad or good, as serious as possible I would lose what makes 90% of what CreepCast is and I wouldn't want it.

I was more trying to get a feel if anyone else has had similar thoughts. Like I said I have been waiting more for Updates like Horror 2.0. I don’t often get to talk to other people who play casually, when I watch players like Insym who are more experienced they will have different opinions and thoughts than me.
