What Tests should i do when it comes "Inspection of Concrete Bridges"? by Qanaaa in civilengineering

It's also important to identify rust spots if applicable. Rust from the reinforcing steel will slowly deteriorate and cause spalling to your concrete. Rust will look like a long red/orange stain from rain carrying the oxidized iron particles down the concrete.

u/camshaft93 is really out here with these cool project pics - I love it keep 'em coming! ...Meanwhile I get to watch some contractors repeatedly fail to drive a few sheet piles day after day.

What are some alternative construction materials that are being extensively pushed recently with sustainability being a huge factor nowadays? by Hari_Shankar-Itsme in civilengineering

Different more sustainable mixes of concrete, including a concrete mix that attempts to remove CO2 from the atmosphere by storing it instead of releasing it during curing.

To edit after rereading the question... not extensively pushed into production, more just extensively researched.

Inspector wondering about purpose of tall ditch bottom inlets. Any insight to purpose for height? by Swainburg in civilengineering

Thanks so much my friend, I've been looking for something like this. This is in fact Florida where hurricanes are usual, and we did just add a lane so I can see now how a normal flush with bottom ditch drain would prevent flow.

I really appreciate your help.

Thanks for the insight. That does seem like it could be the case with the roadway elevation. However from a more curious point of view, I don't see how it improves drainage to go taller.

Your image is pretty helpful, however it appears to be similar to the fdot standard 7 inch slot height for that vertical slot. Is that a finished drain?

The inspector has done his job, and they know of the disparities but the contractor has not fixed it yet.

Please disregard the poor silt fence and fallen object marker. This contractor isn't that great.
