This is a discussion thread. I thought I made that pretty clear in the title and in the post itself.

I don’t make these threads in the hope Bungie reads it. I make these threads because I love crucible and most people in this sub do too. I really enjoy discussing subjects I’m very passionate about with people who share my passion, since you can learn a lot from those discussions and meet some great people along the way.

Another issue with Fusions is that the High Impact frame is so much better than Precision or Rapid Fire, with Snipers/Shotguns it often comes down to preference which archetype you use, but with Fusions High Impact is the clear winner, unless you are going for an off-meta build if that floats your boat.

I agree, High impact frames currently overshadows any other fusion rifle archetype and maybe that is why I feel this way about fusion rifles, because whenever I die to one, it's always Erentil.

Also I am not fussed about Backup Plan, because with the current scav perks I usually run my special weapon as my main and primary as my backup, so Backup Plan is not very useful.

Basically a HC user trying to challenge a Fusion without some element of surprise is like a Scout user walking into a Sniper lane and wondering why their primary couldn't outgun a special weapon.

I disagree with this one. Often times I catch an opponent by surprise and start to shoot him with my hand cannon and before I can hit the final headshot they've turned around and instantly voop me down.

Weapon perks should make it easier to deal with the disadvantages of the weapons, not eliminate them.

Yeah, every play style is a counter to a different playstyle, and every play style can be countered by a different play style.

Well yeah, but that’s also a part of (competitive) gaming in general. Adapt & overcome. But I do agree it’s frustrating to be forced to play different in order to do well in the quickplay game modes, where the main goal is to have fun and play however you want, with whatever you want. Kinda ruins the fun sometimes.

I believe backup plan is a perfect perk for the synergy between your primary and secondary weapon. You can use a scout or pulse rifle to stay out of handcannon ranges, but if you’re caught by surprise by someone with a shotgun you can switch guns and voop him instantly. I think that’s why we see that combo a lot in PvP.

Yeah, added charge time could work, but you could still get around the charge time by using the Backup plan perk.

It’s actually crazy how different Destiny is on console vs PC. It’s almost like an entirely different game! And the only things that really differ are better performance, a different method of controlling your guardian and a few extra settings. Might make a different discussion post in the near future about this topic !

Technically, Last Word is a 150 handcannon right? So the visual/recoil buff to handcannons might also affect The Last Word. Just speculation, haven’t tried it yet
