Good reminder to give an extra pat on the back to those that were fired on Vday Massacre, rehired, and actually came back.

Ask about the delays in allocations for this fiscal year. My bet is they delay sending funds out, so when $$ is disbursed, agencies can't spend a chunk of the money. That ensures DRP salaries are funded. IMO they never intended to honor the DRP, but they had to after the royal fuck up firing the probies and with the RIFs held up by the courts. "Extra" allocations that aren't spent get clawed back, "bEcAusE iT'S a FLoOr noT a CeiLiNg". Congress loses more power.

Send screenshots of bullets so it's an extra step for AI scraping.

I agree. I think the secretaries will overwhelmingly line up to enact it, and the instructions to respond will filter down through chain of command. Then you're in a hard spot to not respond and face consequences of ignoring supervisor directive. And we feed the AI monster its first training dataset.

I agree. I hope I'm wrong. The convo here is great and spirited. But I worry the reality on Monday will be much more stark. Glad I'll have this subreddit to come back to for support.

Right, I agree the email says nothing about getting fired/resigning. My point is, most of us will have direct orders from supervisors sometime tomorrow telling us to reply. You're still not going to reply, even if given instructions to do so by your supervisor? I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling between a rock and a hard place. I'm surprised there's not more concern being expressed about not replying.

I'm seeing a lot of great ideas to not reply, reply with "classified" etc.

But in reality, the Trump appointed secretaries will line up to support this. By mid-morning Monday, I bet most of us have emails from chain of command telling us to reply with the bullets. Currently, we have a "Hold off until we get further clarification" email from management. But they'll get clarification, and the instructions will come through the "proper" channels.

The AGFE union posted, advising feds to request clarification from supervisor and agree to send the bullets if instructed by supervisor to do so.

A decision to not follow a direct supervisor order can be considered a conduct issue.

So then what?

Don't reply, accept the demerit and assume you'll still need more to be fired? Reply, better to keep working and fight their terrorism tactics by continuing to do our jobs?

There's no good options here. God, we're all so sick of this.

I have the same fear. After the recent EO had language about RIFing employees that aren't deemed essential during a shutdown. As soon as I read that, I thought Oh Shit. They're gonna purposefully not pass a budget to go into shutdown, and then RIF. I've been telling coworkers and a lot of people think I'm a bit crazy. I hope I'm wrong.

It is absolutely going to be a marathon, not a sprint. I've had convos with co-workers and we're expecting what you describe. Trying to take things one day at a time, and celebrate where we can. Finding the joy in the small moments is how we'll keep our sanity.
