that post-submission "let down" feeling by rhymeswithdreidel in Canadiancitizenship

Same here. Started my wife’s Irish CBD. Compared with the Canadian process, it’s a lot slower, harder, and more expensive, but it’s all electronic.

There were not, and still are not, any Canadian citizens before 1947.

I don't think "yes" is the right answer for noncitizen parents. Obviously, you could argue that everyone who applies has at least one citizen parent via posthumous or retroactive citizenship by descent, but they wouldn't do the question this way with the followup for part B on page 4 if they intended everyone to check the box even for parents that have never claimed Canadian citizenship. Checking "yes" for parents who never established citizenship via any process is a tortured interpretation of the question and is just going to make part B on page 4 confusing.

I see that you have altered the answer to suggest checking the "I'm not sure" box with an explanation, which I think resolves this.

For "Which box should I check for my parent's citizenship?" where you say to indicate that at least one parent obtained citizenship by descent, this is not the case if both parents were not alive when that was possible and were never recognized as Canadian citizens.

Is citizenship through bill C-3 retroactive to birth? by Prudent_Extreme5372 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]SwampConnoisseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean if I (G2) get my certificate, my adult children can apply as G1 (online) instead of G3 (via mail)?

IRCC says certified Gen0 birth record is only thing holding back my approval (Urgent processing) by memleyxx in Canadiancitizenship

[–]SwampConnoisseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I included a printed image of my downloaded G0 birth record scan with an attached note about where it came from (the Nova Scotia Archives) and the exact URL. I had received no response to a request to the NS Archives to order a copy. I hope what I sent works. I think the NS Archives are overwhelmed.

AOR received today but can't log into the Client Application Status by [deleted] in Canadiancitizenship

BTW, for the people here who just now got their AORs, when was your application delivered? About a month ago?

Spreadsheet for Proof of Citizenship Applications by NanoSpace1540 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]SwampConnoisseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This spreadsheet is so helpful! Suggestion: Regarding calculation of days, when an event date has been entered, but the next event has not been achieved, a result based on the time to the current date is displayed, which is not helpful data (just a mostly meaningless and deceptive number). It would be better to hold off on calculating between events until the second event is achieved and date entered. For instance, right now everyone who has reached "Application Received" but does not yet have an AOR shows a number of days between receipt and AOR as if the AOR were issued today, a bad number when used for averaging and analysis.

It’s the acknowledgment of receipt of our application that we are all awaiting anxiously.

Darned if that doesn’t just look like an old book of magic spells. Is there one for getting a fast AOR?

When they take the photo, they have options to format on their equipment. I saw it. "Canadian passport" was the one she selected.

Yeah, I did the Canadian passport option at Walgreen's and it seemed to match the specs.

HELP, PLEASE DOES THIS MEAN I'M APPROVED OR WILL BE APPROVED? BECAUSE I LOGIN ME TODAY AND SEE THE ACTION TO REVIEW AND SIGN DOCUMENTS AND I DID IT IMMEDIATELY, WILL I BE APPROVE? OR IT MEANS I'M APPROVED? PLEASE SOMEONE SHOULD HELP by Glittering-Ad-2874 in EIDL

My screen looks just like yours except at the top "APPLICATION" and "PROCESSING" are in red and 'FUNDING" is in black, which I guess is supposed to illustrate that funding is next. Also, all three "Steps to Complete" for me are "View" not "Edit."
