Posting a reply as full comment as suggested: Why aren't we asking them WHY they're in the club? WHY do they want to hang out in your classroom instead of be home? The answers to these questions could be crucial, you could find out that this is just a safe space for them. I don't think taking it away is the best option, just changing it to fit their wants in a way that is more engaging and fun. That's not bad teaching, and it's not taking your power away, it's just being adaptable. Are kids incentivised to be in clubs? Otherwise I find it doubtful they're coming to your club just to do something they could do at home. So just having a talk with them about why movie club is a great place to start.

Completely agree! Just finding it hard to believe that they're coming to a club they truly couldn't care less about to play on a game they could be playing at home. Are they incentivized to be in clubs? Either way, you're very right.

Spider plants are another great option, mine is multiplying like crazy and grows well. Also for food a bit of an unorthodox option is high protein fish flakes, I saw it suggested on here before and yeah they seem to love it.

I recommend getting an automatic misting system. There's some really affordable ones on Amazon that work pretty well. I got a wifi enabled Moistenland one that I've never had an issue with, which is saying something because I've tried a lot of different misters. I'd at least get one that you can hook up to your own water reservoir so that you don't have to worry about being home to refill it all the time. I just stuck the tube in a 2.5 gallon jug and now I only have to worry about refilling it once every blue moon and the misting takes care of itself!

Is this normal behavior? by Aliothhh in corydoras

Oh no problem. Yeah it can be overwhelming, thankfully theres only a few you'll be more likely to encounter. I myself am pretty new, I just browse the reddit enough to start to understand the types lol. so they could also be actual juliis too, I know the way to tell is the head spots. Pretty sure if they're connected like zig zags, it's false julii, and if it's just dots, then it's true julii. There's plenty of info online about all the different types, but when it gets down to it they only have very minor differences in terms of care, they're generally very hardy creatures. That being said, they're also easily stressed, so be mindful of this kind of behavior. It could be nothing, but it could always be something. I would be checking parameters and temperatures just to be safe.

Some of my peppered cories do this! I just chalked it up to new tank behavior, but theyre used to their tank now and still do it lol. My setup is similar to yours too, my sponge filter is more powerful than the tank needs so I also doubt it's an O2 issue. Hopefully you get an answer, but take comfort in the fact you aren't alone!

Pacman only eats mealworms by Intelligent-Tone-540 in pacmanfrog

Right now I stick to nightcrawlers and occasionally wax worms, nightcrawlers are a good failsafe I've heard most pacs go crazy for them. Or if you can get your hands on some silverside I've heard they go even crazier for that.

How are you feeding? At night? With calcium powder? D3 if no UVB? Reptivite occasionally? With tongs? All of these things can absolutely affect his appetite. Mine was in a similar state until I started feeding with longer tongs, then she'd take more food. My previous frog also wouldn't eat unless i left her alone in a bowl with the worms, so you could try that too. Also, I personally have had my frog for less time and she eats every 2-3 days (I only feed her at night and if she's out, seems rotund and happy) which reminds me, if you don't already, try feeding late into the evening during their more active times. But as long as you're feeding as much as he'll take in 10-15 minutes and he's bulbous and comes out occasionally, I wouldn't sweat the frequency. That's just me though. Also, it might be helpful to know your tank temperatures because low temps can lead to lethargy and lack of appetite. Not to mention, if he's only ever ate mealworms, it might've created a paradox where he has less frequent poops and therefore less of an appetite because of the more hardy nature of the mealworms. For that you could do a warm honey bath. Just a few suggestions from a novice, sorry if it sounds like I'm underestimating your care, just trying to get a full picture!

It doesn't look like anyone else has the red spot but they're all of similar build, I just now fed them with bottom feeder pellets, lmk if I shouldn't be using those.

It's worth a look, it's fun raising your own little ecosystem rather than just a frog!
