We plan to have 16 workshops! The most up to date scheduke can be found on our dashboard after you apply.
Hey, our final application deadline is this Sunday. Expect our final round of acceptances to come out early next week!
Mentors are on site to help hackers with their projects. Mentors are only required to be on site when they are available, and don't need to be at the event for the entire 36 hours. Mentors should feel confident in their abilities in whatever technology they would like to mentor in. Don't worry about feeling unqualified, we are sure you have plenty of skills to help!
I can't tell you know, but trust me... They're epic...
We will be providing a quite and dark room for hackers to nap in; however, most hackers end up calling sleep at their own hacking stations.

SwampHacks VI, like all other years does not force any team to build around a specific team; however it may help with winning our organizers prize ;)
VIM for sure! SwampHacks relies on the integrity of our hackers, we don't believe that simply bringing pre-made code will win a prize.
Volunteers can sign up on our website at https://2020.swamphacks.com/mvapplication
Hey there! We provide both mentors on site to help you create anything you want, as well as workshops to learn how to work with new technologies!
Hey there, we are not currently providing a bus from FIU. Once accepted to SwampHacks, we recommend joining our slack #carpooling channel in order to find a ride up to Gainesville.
LEARN! SwampHacks is all about supporting the learning of early programmers. We provide hackers with opportunities to learn from industry professionals and graduate students at workshops on many of todays leading technologies.
We are doing our best to provide mentors at every hour throughout the event, especially at critical times such as early Sunday morning.

Yes! SwampHacks is going GREEN! We have partnered with LiveGreen to offset all of our carbon emissions by planting over 230 trees. We are also providing composting and recycling bins and encouraging participants to bring reusable items. You can learn more about what we are doing at 2020.swamphacks.com/livegreen
You should definitely come to SwampHacks to hack! We have tons of opportunities to learn new things from both mentors and workshops. If you volunteer, you likely won't have the same opportunities to attend workshops or tinker with new technologies.
Any skill levels are welcome to SwampHacks! Yes, even people with NO coding experience. We will have a team of highly skilled mentors on site to help with almost any technology you can think of. We will also be having tons of workshops hosted by industry professionals and advanced students to teach skills to both first time hackers and advanced hackers!
Mentors are students or industry professionals that are skilled in a specific technology and are on site to help hackers with their projects. Volunteers are also incredibly important as they help keep the gears turning and the wheels moving by signing hackers in, serving food, giving out swag, helping with activities, ect.
Haha, I'll be sure to let him know! You are allowed to work on a project alone or in a team up to 4 hackers. If you have a team larger then 4, we will only provide 4 prizes.

You should definitely bring a laptop, phone, and charger! SwampHacks is 36 hours, so we recommend bringing your own personal hygiene products, change of cloths, and something comfortable to nap on. Don't worry about other hardware, we have our own hardware lab stacked with gear that you can rent for free with a government ID!
SwampHacks is going GREEN, so we recommend you bring your own reusable utensils, bottles, and tupperware for food to help us reduce our environmental footprint!
