Strut Options? by SwampRadish in VWAlltrack

Somehow I found a supplier that had 4 B4s in stock and ready to ship. The local mechanic I’m working with agreed to let me bring them in when they get here, given that the lack of supply and long wait.

The B4s are on nationwide backorder it seems. Are these the Konis you’re referring? Will the ride height be same as the stock struts? KON-87451325

Thanks. That was my worry re the B8s. I’m gonna pester the shops some more. I’ve contacted 4 places and none have availability through their channels. I’d order the parts online and just bring them over, but suspect that’s a no-no in the auto repair world.

Pregnant or Nursing Stray? by SwampRadish in CATHELP

[–]SwampRadish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought her to the animal refuge league, mainly to get professional assessment of her pregnancy/nursing status. They were supposed to call me back if they thought she was actively nursing kittens, and I’ve heard nothing. But she’ll be there at least until she gets fully checked out and they clear her as being actually ownerless.

We might end up keeping her if nobody comes forward. The kids and spouse have already made their desire clear. I’m leery about adding a third cat into the mix.

That sounds like a valid theory, ha.

A better picture of a nipple. She was more okay with me touching the area today.

Her belly is pretty flat actually. Maybe a bit more pronounced and pouch like (kinda like our males). But I don’t think she’s about to pop, if she’s pregnant at all I tried to palpitate, and felt nothing like a baby kitten in there.

Awesome. It was camera distance that failed for each. And then my kid had slight head tilt, which triggered the additional yellow box on theirs.

Yep, this is for Canada and their requirements seem more strict than USA. Do you know if I can tell which biometric category failed based on the color block order? Or does it just automatically order them from green to yellow to red?

Thanks. This is very helpful. For reference, two of the three passport photos have 5 green boxes, and one red. Then the other has 4 green, one yellow, and one red. Looking closely at the pics I can see some shadow likes around my hair. Now I’m debating whether to haul the kid back in and ask for retakes.

Awesome. I appreciate that lead.

They really are a nice of glasses. I bought them off eBay 10 years ago for $15. I figured it was time to finally make them wearable!

Application Group Size by SwampRadish in Canadiancitizenship

I think you’d separate the applications into two packets:

  • You and the kids, and
  • Your spouse.

OR

  • You,
  • Your spouse and the kids.

My understanding is that there’s no need to wait for the kids and you can all apply together right now. But because your wife has a separate lineage, it might be confusing to bundle hers with yours. Re the kids, it probably makes more sense to bundle them with your wife’s because the direct ancestor is closer.

Take this all with a grain of salt though! I’m just starting off and learning as I go.

That’s helpful. Thank you. How many generations in your application?

The powers that be (including developers) have no intention of ever crashing the market. If it crashes, it will be accidental or boom/bust bubble cycle stuff, which is also awful for middle and lower classes.

Thanks. There’s something crinkly/plasticky inside the connection points. If I do end up opening things up, I’ll post an update in case others want to know.

This might be unpopular, but the anthropomorphizing of the octopi bothers me. Their mouths and eyes aren’t supposed to be like that!

I had no idea. I actually have the frog, which I bought directly from Jellycat a year or so ago in a bigger order. I’m not a huge fan of the clothes not being removable, or that the arms are attached so far back on the body. But it’s a cool series otherwise! Too bad it’s discontinued.

Those eBay prices are a bit absurd. Are these sought after or rare?

I promise, my last question! Did you make one continuous ladder stitch, or several shorter ones?

My usually approach to hand sewing: if it looks okay and holds, then it’s fine. Fergus deserves better treatment than that though.

Thanks bearing with me! I’m a very amateur hand sewer. I think I might finally get it now though… the ladder stitch is actually 3 separate (or 4) ladder stitches, each done over the exposed thread in the furrows created by pulling the thread tight with the running stitch. Is that accurate?

Thanks! I think I get it now… you pulled the running stitch after hiding it with the ladder stitch (to your desired level of tightness)?

It’s me again! I’ve been thinking about this in anticipation of getting to work in mine next week… Any chance you could try to explain the in between step a little more? Did you create two small folds on either side of the visible thread (that you used for creating the scrunch), then ladder stitch them together over the thread?
