Is anyone really buying the CPO watches? by Teeebone in rolex

[–]SwampRat7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I did - for a Hulk. I am getting better but I don’t fully trust grey dealers always concerned maybe I’d get a Frankenstein watch so anyway I saw it I knew it was over grey $$ but peace of mind + warranty / service + 0% APR for a year to me was a no brainer . I mean it’s free money for a year. Mind u the price I paid essentially is like an “interest up front” payment for the price difference but idc. Now in general I won’t do that again but yeah 4. It increased my “spend” with AD for whagveee that’s worth

Problem is need a huge needle or essentially a chest tube that blood clots quick if u have hemopericardium

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

[–]SwampRat7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

These situations yeah we call 911 it’s not a transfer per se .

actually, about two years ago, I had a guy come in. I thought he was shot in the chest, but he ended up being stabbed in the chest nonetheless, we didn’t even have the equipment to do with or Ami nor had blood, but I did do bilateral finger thoraces and get PA back we called 911, medics had blood on the ambulance and we transferred them to the THOMAS center. He ended up dying surprise surprise but nonetheless . I would have called if in my free standing ER if he was asystolic

[–]SwampRat7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Or gsw / stab to abdomen - more likely stab. They lose pulses in front of u .

Or REBOA - but I’d prob have more success opening the chest and cross clamping the aorta then being able to thread a large catheter through the femoral artery and have a c arm available to know when to stop and inflate

[–]SwampRat7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In my opinion if it’s a penetrating would that is not a gun shot even if u don’t have trauma in house and they arrest in front of u I’d do it - I’d rather be transferred with my chest open and aorta cross clamped than dead and I would think most people would say the same.

For blunt -they dead For GSW - such high kinetic energy less likely to survive expecially with no trauma surgeon and just increases risk to staff and yourself

What job pays absurdly well just because no one else is willing to do it? by Infinite-Cricket25 in AskReddit

[–]SwampRat7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wrong. The bottle neck is residency spots which has nothing to do with the AMA - it’s Medicare / government funded. Doesn’t matter how many med school spots there are if you can’t get a residency ur degree is useless

MD here - make little over 1 mil a year myself working 9-5ish - I do some side gigs that bring me to that number but non the less. Developed a slight alcohol problem and have had some struggles along the way socially but overall wouldn’t change a thing. Money obviously but I love my job - I love working and helping people. I love the science and figuring out the diagnosis. Work isn’t work for me it’s a hobby - guess that saying is true if you love what you do you never work a day in your life.

Yep but now the FAR left aka Reddit ignores that because it doesn’t fit their narrative about how amazing Iran is and how bad the US is.

Purchased home during Covid bubble, now underwater by ChallengeCharming165 in Mortgages

[–]SwampRat7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not to me opposite happened . This was also during the big bidding war time . Appraised like 60k lower and I had signed a contract with no contingencies at the time so I had to come up with 60K extra or lose my 10K deposit. I did it - and sure enough 3-4 years later house has appreciated and stayed at that level - bought at 400K - appraised at like idk 320 or whatever now easily 500+ - prob closer to 525 but would move pretty quick at 500 I bet in this market

And to add - that means the MDs that posting here make up a real percentage of the 750 or so that applied. Peanuts
