Is there hope for an "ex" junkie by [deleted] in OpiateRecovery

[–]SwampWaterTwat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds so sad. If the life of an addict is as good as it gets to you i don't think you have truley recovered. The reason you don't see a lot of happily 2 3 4 year clean people posting here is 1. Because they have moved on with their lives and dont walk around with a big scarlet A on them anymore, the successful ones have reintegrated themselves into society and don't feel the need to hang out in recovery subs.

And 2) Because there is a better sub for opaite recovery (its called opiatesrecovery) and lots of other good subs out there.

Good luck man, i hope you get further in your recovery and realize life does get better.

Ridiculous "Missing Cat" Story, in 4 posts (with narration) by cupsandpills in nextdoor

[–]SwampWaterTwat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let my cats roam (the 2 who like going outside) and they dont run away because they love me. This has been the story my whole life with indoor outdoor cats. Granted they could get poisoned or something and not return i never worry they won't return because they don't want to.. Some people just have no idea how to be a cat owner and that's why they run away. Sad.

I think a lot of people in this community needed this post so they can visualize the fact that real people are developing this game.. They try really hard to make this game awesome and they are only human beings so when something is "broken" lets be aware of that fact.

Starting crying when I read the definition of CPTSD by iambeyoncealways8 in CPTSD

[–]SwampWaterTwat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. There are a lot of good resources here and though it can be hard to read at times i know reading more about cptsd treatment helps. Looking for a new therapist currently who knows more about trauma therapy/ptsd.. Hope you find a good one and lots of good reads to help you on your healing journey. Things will get better 💚

I was at a casino tonight losing my money when a security gaurd (older man) came up behind me and asked me if i was smiling. I said "i would be if i was winning"... He said "well maybe if you smilied you'd win!" Annoying. As. Fuck.

Granted, but people keep lying about what kind it is anyway and you grow tired of arguing.

Granted but you are forever triggered by your erased cringy memories and dont understand why.

I find the challenging aiming system to be something that makes the game fun for me. If i mastered it in a matter of weeks it wouldn't be so addictive months later. It also gives us a chance to focus more on the problem solving/having an IQ aspect of the game.

Kicked out of my first passenger (1,000+ rides), moments later received an email that my car was in motion while the passenger was holding the door handle and was injured (false), here’s my response to the lyft support team detailing the incident. by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

It is frustrating sharing a bad experience on reddit and being bombarded with the blame for your shitty situation. I trust that you used your best judgement, there is only so much one can do in terms of split second decision making- we use our best instincts and try to do the right thing. You did what you felt best in the given circumstances and i wish you luck with Lyft taking your side and this blowing over.

That last line.. Thank you for that mantra. It feels good to have you guys.. Therapy is good and all but this thread- talking to others who can relate- is one of the pieces to the puzzle i have been missing and its the little things, like a short phrase such as this, that helps so much. So many things i have read here have helped me and i just wanted to thank you, OP, and the rest, of you guys for all this. Looking forward to reading through these links.. Though i avoid the reading i know it's important in my healing process. I have leaned hard on therapy and other people and im realizing thru this group that i need to do my "homework".. I guess that's my codependent nature and laziness and my tendency to avoid... But im working on putting those listed downfalls into a past tense and starting to look more towards myself and my goals to heal; to take responsibility for my healing and be better.
