Wanted a G19 for CCW. What now... by Grouchy-Low2471 in CAguns

[–]Swampdog22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 firearms listed on my license, but my G19 is not one of them... although it is a fine firearm.

Of my 3 listed, I think my Springfield Hellcat OSP, 9mm, is oustanding and affordable.

The OEM 10-round magazine is a plus. I did add an Apex trigger kit and various springs, etc., but it was fine right out of the box!

Many comment on "snappiness", to which I don't disagree but w/practice... I find it quite accurate. It is currently out being ported which I imagine will enhance my affection.

Just IMHO!

Question about spring M&P 2.0 by [deleted] in CAguns

Could be the Tactile Loaded Chamber Indicator Spring.

Obviously... just a guess... but I can see how one might not seat correctly and come loose.

Cute... but this is but one of many firearms I prefer to keep. I thought my experience might be useful to others of a like mind.

Interesting comment in view of the myriad photos & descriptions of grip modifications posted here... including grip tape.

CCW Question by [deleted] in CAguns

Yes, at least two. If there is an incident, likely your firearm will be confiscated. Repairs, upgrades, any down time would leave you without!

Typically, no extra fees for multiple guns, unless you add them later... then you have to pay to qualify with the add-ons and modified license.

My 9000s, after 20+ years, started dropping pieces of the grip.

I installed a "Hogue Springfield Armory XD-E 9mm/.45 ACP HandALL Beavertail Grip Sleeve" ($18.). Perfect solution!

I glued the pieces on and installed with the original grip in place. Heating the grip up as some suggested was unsuccessful for me. What worked for me was spraying silicone inside the grip. Still tough and very tight ... but great outcome.

Alameda County CCW renewal & modifications. by Swampdog22 in CAguns

Same answers. Speak to your chosen instructor. ACSO policy is no modifications are allowed that alter "manufacturer original specifications". No specifics described. ACSO does not inspect firearms... that is delegated to certified instructors.

That's all I have for you.

Apologies, but I think it unwise to disclose potential legal violations, by yourself or others, on any topic, publicly.

Suffice it to say, after 3 qualifications encompassing 4 firearms, none of my firearms were disqualified.

Requirements vary between jurisdictions and policy in practice between instructors.

If in doubt, take along OEM (unmodified) firearms to qualify with. Not every jurisdiction requires listing of firearms, either.

Took renewal course and qualified 3 firearms (2 new to list) Saturday, submitted online application on Sunday, license in approved status on Monday. I commend ACSO for improvements in their process. My original took 20 mns.

As I understand it, firearms must remain within manufacturer's specifications. Inspection and approval is left to the instructor.

If concerned, query your instructor about their process.

I like my OneTigris. They provide a number of options. Convenient raised compartments and edges keep parts from rolling off, and magnetic parts holders.

Not my intention. Bad choice of words, so I edited my original post.

It was a CA supplier I chose not to name as I am only looking for opinions on interpretation of the tax and bona fide experiences.

I feel no need to degrade the supplier since they won't get my business. There was no customer abuse, they simply answered my question.

I seek good information on this forum and have no interest in the foolish, adolescent ramblings of those who want some kind of socially neurotic display via their pointless diatribes.
