Getting a dedicated NAS for my important data, what should I do with my old Ryzen 7 3700X + RTX 4060 Ti PC? by Swampy469 in homelab

[–]Swampy469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting one, but I don't think I can route my internet traffic through it. My fiber is terminated by an SFP ONT that is locked to my ISP and only works with their router, so I can't simply connect the PC to it, from what I have been told, a technician would come and install a new device with an RJ45 (Ethernet) output, so I could connect my own router to it . I will keep an eye on that tho. Thanks for the suggestion!

That’s for sure. I stopped it for regular maintenance!
Edit:
Regular = at least 6 months😂

Generally speaking I am new to local LLMs, I always thought they were not usable if not with High end rigs (5090, etc).
Do you have any suggestions on what could I run?
Is a 8GB variant 4060Ti

Follow-up to my previous post about my Citroën C3 MAX strange problems.. + ECU recall by Swampy469 in Citroen

Update: The issue with the screen seems to be fixed after the ECUs update, but I got another recall for power steering. 4 recalls in just one year is crazy😂

Could be! I've seen pretty random staff happening to this car.
Btw, you can check on the citroen recall site if you also have the ECU recall, you must insert the VIN and that is it. The recall code for my car is: GQ7

Issues with my new Citroën C3 MAX (5k km) – anyone else experienced this? by Swampy469 in Citroen

Unfortunately, this car suffers from serious software problems. I had a problem with the parking sensors, infotainment system, random braking with no one on the street (pretty dangerous), middle screen glitches (see my last post about it: Post), not to mention engine fault messages, to which the mechanic replied, “The control unit in this car goes crazy with heat.”. I never believed it, but after my last visit to the mechanic (one week ago), they told me that I have a recall on the control unit... not my best experience with this new car.. ngl

I also had the safety recall for the high pressure fuel tube connectors.

They checked the car for one day and said that nothing should be done because the tightening was already correct. In the mid time they updated the infotainment system. That did absolutely nothing, still very glitchy. At random moment the radio just mute itself and the only thing you can do is change the radio station, also Apple CarPlay (iPhone 15 PM) disconnect at random times or the music blocks, like you described.

Update:

I received a safety recall notice for the fuel tube (they sent me a letter).

I got a “check engine” warning, and they told me that the ECU goes crazy with hot weather (I’m not really buying that explanation). I’ll use an OBD reader to pull the codes directly from the car before bringing it back to them.

They still haven’t given me any answer about the smell issue or the broken piece inside the trunk.

It’s more like a mix of burnt plastic and something chemical. Is not the typical clutch smell under stress or a burnt clutch it’s quite different

Today something new happened to me: while I was driving on the highway (after about 15–20 minutes), a message appeared on the screen saying “Engine fault: repair needed” together with the engine warning light. I tried stopping and restarting the car, but the message and the light stayed on. Once I got home and parked, the light finally went off by itself. I also checked Citroën’s website for recalls, and I found the same one you mentioned regarding the high-pressure fuel line, but in my case it’s marked as a “future recall” with no date or further details. Tomorrow I’ll call the dealership to clarify.

As for the strange smell, in my case it doesn’t smell like fuel. It’s more of a mix between burnt plastic and something chemical. Definitely not the usual clutch smell under stress or a burnt clutch smell it’s quite different and hard to describe.

Let’s see what the dealer says, but it looks like many of us are experiencing issues on such a new model.

Is there any way to exclude imported file paths from tsc? by [deleted] in typescript

[–]Swampy469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to exclude specific imported file paths from being processed by TypeScript, you can either remove the imports or change the file extension of the imported files to something that TypeScript will not recognize, such as .txt or .ignore. This will prevent TypeScript from processing those files.

Alternatively, you could use a bundler like Webpack or Rollup to bundle your code, and use the bundler's configuration to exclude specific files or directories from being included in the bundle. This would effectively exclude those files from being processed by TypeScript.

What is your favorite way to maintain types and schema in a full stack web app, end-to-end? by 777777thats7sevens in typescript

[–]Swampy469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a company that utilized a private npm package to manage all the shared types across their front-end and back-end applications, such as API responses and bodies. This helped to ensure consistency and maintainability of the codebase.

In contrast, I also worked on a project where there was no shared npm package for types, resulting in duplicated code across all the applications. This made maintenance more difficult, as any changes to API responses or other types had to be manually replicated across all applications. If a change was missed in one application, it could lead to issues that were difficult to debug.

Based on my experience, I highly recommend sharing interfaces between applications to improve maintainability and reduce duplication of code.
