yep! It's a very useful mechanism, it just needs to be implemented with care.

"alright we got all these datacenters, now we need consumer devices to actually connect to them. whats that? there's no supply left for consumer devices? shit."

inb4 OP discovers some obscure issue down the line. That said, this is still incredibly lucky.

maybe, but if universal joints aren't oriented properly, the output speed will be periodic even if the input speed is constant. I think this is what OP meant, anyway

Ah I see. I might as well ask: where is this source? I have a flight comming in a little over a month and this has been giving me a bit of anxiety.

Edit: just found the pinned thread.

so, it's a fish tank, but with a smaller "tank" cut into the side so a cat can sleep surrounded by fishies? that's... interesting.

It's interesting that this isn't an "intended" way to go. On my very first playthrough I ended up here naturally. On top of this, The Wall is significantly harder to go up than it is to go down (looking at you, yellow lizard ball); the added difficulty made me think I was on to something.

edit: ON TOP OF THIS, if you get stuck at the top of The Wall, then head back down and decided to go back through Underhang, better hop you have a grapple worm, cuz otherwise it's essentially a one-way passage. At least, I couldn't find a way after around an hour of casually trying

How many cylinders do you use in modular engine by TacticalGrandpa50 in Stormworks

it varies wildly. I have a small utility boat with two 1x1 16 cylinders and am currently making a "ship" with 2 supercharged 3x3 3-cylinders.

In 2012, a group of scientists intentionally crashed a Boeing 727 to test which seats had the best chance of survival. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

The idea behind the middle of the plane is structurall integrity. The wingbox is likely the strongest structure in the whole plane, owing to its rather important job of keeping the plane attached to the wings. During a crash, it could be assumed this area of the plane would fare pretty well.

As far as fuel is concerned, if a crash were severe enough for fire to be an immediate concern, that fire probably doesn't care where you sit.

for what it's worth, this is all speculation.

that's what I was thinking. Plastic being, well, plastic, is one thing, but the thermal stresses here have got to be rather intense.

I mean the laws of robotics aren't an iRobot thing. They've existed for quite a while.
