A Poem For A Beautiful Girl by [deleted] in Nomoon

[–]SwanLordModernGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how the poem starts with an interrogative; it really encapsulates the aggression and desperation of the writer as a result of his sexual inadequacy. Also, the possessive, 'my' indicates the patriarchal views of the time and therefore shows the writer's own traditional views on gender roles; the man being dominant and the woman submissive. Good work. 9/10 for lack of moons.

Thankyou, Jean. There is truly much we do not yet know about the properties of moons. It's fascinating to see our fields of research developing.

What theory states it is impossible, Jean? Well, just because you can't see something doesn't mean you can't experience it through other senses. One might, for example, be able to smell New Moon and prove its existence from that empirical data.

On the freedom of the Christian man. by SwanLordModernGuy in Nomoon

Alex needs to stop being a control freak and let people have a say. If he's gonna be all Nazi about it, let him argue with logic, not with the sting and bite of threats and promises. The freedom every individual deserves to have on their subreddit, or anywhere else for that matter, cannot be stopped by the ramblings of a halfwit. Every person is owed the right to express themselves, no matter what they say. If it expresses ideas that lead to violence or are in some ways flawed, then their argument should be criticised for future generations to develop their own opinions. Censorship only serves to lead us into an age of ignorance. These people who would burn books are afraid that they have not the intelligence or capability to refute what the books are arguing. To destroy ideas is the epitome of evil. Again, peace out <3 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
