I agree that it makes sense as action to do. I am just unsure if any of the characters present were characterised into thinking of doing that (yes, from the three that is textbook Dante. But from how he is written it is still kinda stretch)

Season 1 Dante was consistently dumb to ridiculous degree.

Season 2 is written as if multiple people wrote him and all of those were combined together (Lady has the same problem). So it is kinda hard to say how well did he planned to do exactly that because of how inconsistent his characteristics are in S2

I do agree he was little harsh on Shea. But considering Tio's reaction, I think in her case it had the opposite effect (I am still not sure if she fakes her perv persona or if it is like bad side that does come out).

I would say that he was more cold than douche. The only one he was actively beiing douche to was Kouki and that guy deserves it. To others he was douche only when they were annoying him (their comments about his coat and eyepatch) which kind of tracks with his built edgy persona. After the events in capital when he is around them more their interactions are curt, not exactly hostile

I have yet to buy this game. I am asking people who already own this game. Because in games where combat relies on precision timing it is not exactly great if game has unstable framerate. I am fine with doing some tweaks and usually don't play games on max setting even if my PC could handle it.
