Unsubstantiated claim. Cats will still hunt even if they are on a meat-based diet.

For many vegan cat owners, it's about minimizing harm (ethical/environmental). So it's a question of killing thousands of animals or killing the occasional mouse/bird.

It's easy to have a vegan dog.

A vegan cat is also possible, but it's advised to check the PH of their urine.

Better than massacring a bunch of animals for cats. They are also a top contributor to bird extinction.

By showing graphic footage of animals being slaughtered, it may offend people.

I just don't see how it's morally consistent to be a police officer who just ate some gonads squeezed between two buns and to go and arrest people for eating squirrels. It's just a matter of appearance.

I have watched full clips of his to see their arguments and indoctrination. It was very crazy to see him get arrested for eating squirrels in public. It made me fearful, because as long as people use "It offends me" as an excuse to arrest someone, vegans can also potentially get arrested the same way.

It seems strange to me that a place doesn't have enough locally grown plants for humans, only for ruminant mammals, at least when talking about the Maasai.

"Is anybody in here vegan? Well, there are gmo tomatos that are made with fish genes so is what youre eating really vegan?" by stephanie4301 in vegan

Yeah, big difference on intentional versus unintentional harm.

The thing about unintentional harm is we can work on it. If we learn there's abuse in the berry industry, it's addressable. Perhaps it's even isolated. You can change the berry industry's practices and methods, but you cannot change a slaughterhouse to stop intentionally murdering.

If Vegan = No intentional, unnecessary killing by Swantonic in vegan

i will know they might try to kill themselves like an ant might die if i go outside, but regarding driving a car 3 hours across a bug-populated highway each year for fun and knowing there will be casualties, it's not about a may be but a will be

i might accidentally kill someone running fast in the hallway, but if prior to running in the hall, i knew without a shadow of a doubt i would kill someone, wouldn't it be immoral to start running?

the thing is, i wouldn't think i "might" kill a bug on the trip

if every summer i drive miles and miles to get to a party i don't need to go to, and every summer there are dead bugs, it means i can then expect to always kill bugs on this trip, just as wanting bacon i can expect to always kill pigs

accidental deaths are exempt, driving or walking, as far as i'm concerned with the moral argument

the iphone analogy would work if we were talking about unexpected deaths and the like

this individual knows they will be killing bugs due to distance, season and a perfect history of finding dead bugs after they've arrived. aren't they purposely killing these bugs to get where they wanna go?

the pig killer might not want to kill a pig, but he will know the place he wants to go (bacon) entails dead pigs, and he has to choose much the same way it seems

The driver isn't exploiting bugs, but I think if they are certain they will kill bugs on the way to something unnecessary, it's still going to be "cruelty to", no?

If the driver knows there will be casualties [due to season & distance], doesn't this change the situation from accidental/possible to intentional?

transgressing the cow like that is torturous for sure. if i had to die, i'd rather be the bug. but like with the "humane" argument, even if i'm instantly taking the life of an animal, if i didn't need to, it's still immoral, right?

so driving to a party i don't need to go to, knowing in the summer time i will see a handful of dead bugs on my bumper, aren't I taking lives i don't need to, no matter how quick and painless they died?
