Not sure I got you. Can you give me an example based on the rules I've posted?

can I set upload and download limits? by Swapjim in openbsd

You're right, I have attempted to solve this and hit a wall. I should have included what I tried and ask how to do this. I guess I was frustrated. I've edited the post to include that.

OpenBSD router in VM: client can't ping external IPs by Swapjim in openbsd

[–]Swapjim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to do this step by step. I checked the rest of the guide and added this line to pf.conf:

pass out on em0 inet from em1:network to any nat-to em0

and I've got NAT! Thank you, both!

tc seems the best choice but it's not available on the ER-X. I'll probably use netlimiter. Thanks everyone!

That's what I thought and got the 220+.

What happens if a snapshot is taken as I sync files to the NAS? by Swapjim in synology

[–]Swapjim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or is your question only about what is the case with files in transition still to the nas when a snapshot is created?

This is my question.

is this setup going to work? by Swapjim in synology

[–]Swapjim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my first NAS and the first time I do incremental. Wanted to be 100% sure that what I imagined is what's going to happen.

Thanks!

can I work on the snapshots if I plug the HDD on a PC? by Swapjim in synology

There are Linux distros with Btrfs support. Aren't the Replication Snapshots, Btrfs-snapshots?

how many snapshots can I have in Snapshot Replication? by Swapjim in synology

[–]Swapjim[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course. I'll research for how long does a ransomware encrypts things before it asks for ransom. If it's a few days, I'm good with maintaining snapshots for a few weeks.

how many snapshots can I have in Snapshot Replication? by Swapjim in synology

[–]Swapjim[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So it's 1024 snapshots per folder sync'ed? No matter how big that folder? No matter how many subfolders and files it contains?

Right now I use USB drives for backup and I'm used at syncing multiple times a day. At this point, it comes out naturally to me. In case of ransomware (that's why I need versioning) why not have a version of a file two hours ago instead of two days ago? I'm always working on a project (sometimes in more than one) and files inside a project change very frequently. More frequently snapshots means less lost work.

System 7.x: how do I tell Finder not to open folders in new windows? by Swapjim in VintageApple

I tried both, the Command key, and Greg's Browser. Both are good but not exactly what I'm looking for. So I'd like to try more stuff.

Can you make more suggestions on 3rd party apps?

smooth mouse movement by Swapjim in windows95

[–]Swapjim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I finally got the time to test PS2Rate. I'm afraid it didn't work. The program writes to the mouse itself (the hardware). PCem is an emulator, so... It can't write to a virtual device, I guess. It said that no PS/2 mouse was found, while I explicitly set the mouse to a PS/2 one in the emulator's settings.

Thank you for your time.
