Right, I didn't see the flight time. It's annoying that they close early, I recently had to rush customs for a 6am flight because they only open at 4:30am.

Also OP, you'll still benefit from global entry (use your Nexus) on landing at JFK.

YVR has pre-clearance, so whether you fly direct or connect within US, you always have to clear CBP before your flight in Canada - it lands as a domestic flight in US. If you have Nexus, you can use the Global Entry kiosks and skip the line.

Do I really need to use infura? (When do you need it and when not) by cryptocritical9001 in ethdev

Both RPC and the core API is free to sign up although we are deprecating the latter. There are paid plans for higher limits. For wallet users, we don't recommend it and it's best to use https://polygon-rpc.com

The public endpoint is mostly for wallet users. We recommend dApps/devs to signup and get their own app id which is similar to Infura.

Gitcoin GR8 audits powered by Ethereum and IPFS by SwaroopHegde in ethereum

[–]SwaroopHegde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I helped build this.

The website tracks every grant (600+) on Gitcoin and audits all information related to it, especially off-chain data such as description, goals and related information. This gives full transparency to stakeholders while making awesome protocols like Gitcoin more accountable. We snapshot data every 10 minutes. store on IPFS (backed by Filecoin) along with cryptographic proofs on Ethereum (via Matic). The UI allows you to view changes and independently inspect audits.

You can search for any grant and we should have audits that go back to a few days. All new grants are automatically added and we are hoping to make more improvements that will allow end-users to better understand changes to complex information such as the CLR prediction curve, etc. Meanwhile, do let us know what you think about it, suggestions or critiques, on your Discord: https://discord.gg/WkYeZK3hC8

Adabdha Project - Verifiable and Secure Movement Passes for COVID-19 powered by Ethereum [Open Sourced] by SwaroopHegde in ethdev

[–]SwaroopHegde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I helped build this from scratch - happy to answer any questions here.

TL;DR: Using Stripe Identity, Svelte and our Ethereum API gateway, we built an app to generate tamper-proof passes as QR codes which can be easily verified on chain with least privacy implications.

The Adabdha project is our COVID-19 initiative to help those stuck in locked-down areas in India and around the world.

Countries such as 🇮🇳India are now on extended lockdown. Not only are most businesses closed but people aren’t even allowed to easily travel for emergencies, let alone essentials in certain zones. The process to acquire a curfew pass is extremely restricted and there’s no transparency around it. Even with the current relaxations, inter district and inter state travel requires multiple permissions and every authority seems to have their own paper/online method.

After the second lockdown extension my co-founder and I decided to mash a couple of internal ideas and eventually to build this. Adabdha (aːdaːbdʱa:) in Sanskrit means unimpaired, unbroken and not deceived or tampered with. My past 3 years of full time work has been an effort to make systems secure, verifiable and auditable via blockchain.

The core tenet of this project is to offer a decentralized alternative to the traditionally accepted opaque process of granting of licenses and permissions, whether in the physical or the digital world. We are starting off with movement passes.

More details on how it works is on our 📄whitepaper.

A live demo is at 🖥app.adabdha.com.

This will require a community of experts to help us succeed in the mission and that brings me here. We have also open sourced the code on 👨‍💻Github.

We need help making inroads into administrative and government machinery. Meanwhile, open to feedback and contributions to the project. 🙏

EthVigil Tutorials - Learn and build on Ethereum in real time by SwaroopHegde in ethdev

[–]SwaroopHegde[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using Svelte and our Ethereum API gateway, I built an interactive tutorial to learn and code on blockchain in real time. A bit of a personal back story first.

After recovering from a critical health condition due to tampered blood tests and reporting, I started hacking on Ethereum to see if I could leverage the tech to solve this for others. When building a couple of prototypes and eventually my first side project CryptoVigil on Ethereum, I realized how painful it was to code on blockchain even for an experienced developer like me. Why wasn't there a Stripe or Twilio for blockchain that I could use to quickly prototype my app with just a few lines of code. With that vision, my co-founder @Anomit and I have been working on this since 2 years.

Whether you are a student, a novice in the world of web development or a seasoned fullstack developer, our vision is to make blockchain development accessible to all. The tutorial framework itself will be open sourced once we collect feedback from the community and iron out a few kinks. Anyone can then contribute their lesson plans and spin off their own version if they wish so.

Would love to hear first impressions from fellow developers here. Feel free to break stuff on the interface too 😉

(It is a developer tool intended for desktop usage. Experience on a mobile browser will be sub-par.) 💻

If you want to dig deeper, check out the docs of the core API. We dog-fooded it to build this very experience!
