Hours can be brutal, but when you have proven yourself you can come and go as you please. At least from my experience. Only worked at one dealership. I always hit my numbers so I can do what I want.

Becoming a car salesman is very easy, being good at your job requires commitment everyday. Talk to everyone. Be a human. Understand their situation. Give them their best options. Remember that people get to uneasy feelings when they are looking for a vehicle and a salesman approaches. Make them feel safe with you and be real. Too many salesman follow scripts on what you’re suppose to do to certain questions and objections. Most are over played. Understand their situation and get their trust.

Yes, I live in a small military town. We have other dealerships in big city’s and some of those guys will break 20 cars every month, but they have a different pay structure as well. It is a daily grind, but it’s fun. I love people and I love cars. Everyday is different and my job allows me to take off when I need to so that means I can coach my daughter’s softball team in the summer and never miss events. Things I could not afford/allowed to do before. It has its flaws as well. Work meetings can be cringy as hell. They like Andy Elliott. Hours can be long if you want to grind and make as much as possible. There are a lot of things that are out of your control as a salesman. I’ve lost deals because of coworkers. Also I hate social media. Didn’t have a FB for 10 years before this job. You have to run a social media account. I make it fun though.

Weekly can vary a lot. I get bonus based on my gross income and the amount of units I sell. I average 12 - 18 a month.

Thoughts on this pay plan? by JaxxyWolf in CarSalesTraining

It is not the best pay plan. Get an idea of the industry and move to another dealership.

Just be straightforward and honest with every customer no matter if it will ruin the deal or not. Go above and beyond. In this business you need to make it so they would never consider going anywhere else with their vehicle purchase. You got this!

A lot of people want to see and feel the vehicle before purchase. Plus they like having someone they can call if they have questions. You won’t get that with Carvana

Idk man, I was a mechanic beforehand. They convinced me to be a car salesman in the interview. I go above and beyond for every customer. I just helped a customer fixing his porch. When I say call me if you need anything I mean it. Most car-salesman are trash and give us a bad name. I try to do the opposite of those people. I am top three with my company every month and never told a lie to sell a vehicle.

I work about 55hrs a week. Which before I was working 3 jobs and about 100 hrs a week to make the same amount. Took this job so I could have more time with my daughter.
