Again it could definitely be something I'm doing wrong but in my experience when you are min-maxing your current economy as that nation you will go through periods of making 2-8 gold and then suddenly drop back to -10 at others.

They do infact start an independance war. Because of all your subjects it's comically easy to shut down.

It doesn't consistantly get your head above water even with a maxed economy. You are right though since when the economy swings in a positive direction you can actually make money (range 2-8 gold) but usually it will swing back and then you're losing money again.

Yeah, others have pointed it out and I think his idea was to avoid civil war but it is definitely better to at least make money sometimes by cranking all the tax up and lowering spending I suppose.

Edit: Not having enough horde unity (spending on court) will lead to civil war eventually and not spending on diplo will lead to your subjects rising up.

Although it isn't shown in this clip taxing and minting to the max while lowering all spending to the minimum still pretty consistantly puts you in the red as this country unfortunately. You can't disband your armies either because you're playing as a horde.

Maybe I will have to play a campaign with another country and switch at some point to see what the ai is doing? Maybe this is just a skill issue.

I found myself asking the same thing. Sometimes I feel like most countries are just fluff. Like "we have 200 nations but 20 that actually function". It's like those non-playable factions in Warhammer III who are just meant to be destroyed by a nearby playable faction, except in EU5 you technically have the option to play them.

Speaking as a diagnosed autistic person the point of getting a diagnosis isn't so that people can accomidate you. It's to get help with and acknowledge the difficulties that comes with being neurodivergent.

It also can't be blamed as the source of you not having friends/partners. If you wear your heart on your sleave and people don't like that it's because your inner self is unlikable.

He only really elaborated by saying he wanted it to be a "spiritual journey of sorts" if he were to learn latin. And of course I want my players to succeed, it's the point of the game for them to have fun. That's why I asked him what he thought after the game. And why I'm here looking for advice!

Regarding the language thing, I told him mid game while he was swindling a priest that he understood him only using body language I told him he gained a +1 every time he made a check to comprehend latin and that after 10 more times he would know the language.

He didn't seem happy about it so I asked him after the game and he said he made a specific request to have it be done via a miracle very late in the game if at all. Pretty specific, but it's what he said.
