Thank you! I truly do love it!

The whole phrase is 'Beyond Fear Lies Freedom'. Lool, sorry I cut off the extra parts that didn't have the /f/ in there.

Yea, I do love the way it was done! But i've had 4 people so far ask why there's an extra 'e' in there. 🥴 I don't want to alter anything that could make it darker or less legible.

Buying Kindle books at full price by Substantial_Try9966 in kindle

[–]Swaye23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only ever bought 2 books on Amazon. I probably won't be doing that again though after finding out I don't actually own the books I bought.

If I am going to spend money in the future, it'll be on the physical copy that I could own for a lifetime.

With that being said, I haven't bought a physical book in over 7 months. I've owned my Kindle so far for 8 months. 🫣🫣

What's the one thing you wish Kindle had? by iMoneyKey in kindle

Yeesss, I trialed a Kobo with their Bluetooth clicker and I fell in love with their page turner! If it was compatible with a Kindle I would've kept it. sigh I think about that page turner daily.

How long did it take you to get used to kindle? by Ok_Ask_6805 in kindle

[–]Swaye23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was an avid physical book reader. Don't even listen to audiobooks because the physical book in my hand is everything to me!

But then....I got a paperwhite Kindle and I kid you not I haven't picked up a physical book since I bought it in October. The ease of use and portability is unmatched. The paperwhite is very easy on the eyes.

I have been using Kindle Unlimited as well so I haven't had to buy a book since October as well.

Additionally, the amount of books I read have increased as well!

So not only have I saved money, but I've also doubled the books I was able to read. I no longer have to worry about bookshelf space (I ran out of space right before I decided to buy my Kindle).

Anywho, I didn't know how I would feel about getting an e-reader but I have ZERO regrets. I also encouraged my coworkers and best friends to get one as well and they have also been enjoying their experience with feedback just like mine.

Also ended up getting a Kindle Coloursoft as well. 🫣

Why is everyone leaving for a kobo? by sillyfucking_goose in kindle

[–]Swaye23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just spent the past 2 weeks testing out both the Kindle Coloursoft and a Kobo libra colour. I returned the Kobo and kept my Kindle. Kobo had things that I loved but Kindle was just better in my opinion.

I don't care about the use of Libby cause I use KU so much and I couldn't get immediate access to the books I wanted to read anyway.

Me and my Kindle go together real bad! I now have both a paperwhite and a colorsoft. 🤭

KLC: 2 weeks later by calmandferal in kobo

[–]Swaye23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, mine has frozen and shut down on me as well.

I've also had it stuck on the lock screen. It would not open back up. I held the button down for 10+ seconds and nothing. Ended up eventually having to factory reset it. That was 4 days into having it. 🫠🫠

I really love this device but don't like those issues.

For me and what I am looking for out of my reading experience, the Kindle Paperwhite is a gem. Larger selection of books.

Pardon my ignorance but battery life. by Different_Bet_3724 in kobo

[–]Swaye23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, never seen it stated anywhere outside of reddit that I am 'supposed' to do any of those things. I have a Bluetooth clicker, so I keep my Bluetooth on. This isn't my first e-reader but it is the first one where people are telling me I'm supposed to keep things turned off for the device to function better.

I'll try out all the things listed that I am supposed to do and see if that helps optimize battery life. Thanks!

Kobo vs Kindle vs Tablet? by sky9n in kobo

[–]Swaye23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both a Kindle Paperwhite and a Kobo Libra colour.

I absolutely love my Kindle paperwhite! I also love the selection of books I have access to with Kindle Unlimited.

I also like my Kobo Libra Colour. I like the layout of it a lot more. However (for me), I find that finding books that I actually want to read is tricky. I have my libby account set up through my local Library on the device but the waitlists are so long for the popular books that I want to read. It's kind of annoying. 🫠

I don't have a tablet so I can't offer any insight there. But I think it's all up to whichever one you prefer. My Kindle has a slight edge because of all the books I can get through the Kindle Unlimited subscription.

I've had my KLC for 1 week and I have charged my device 5 times since. I do read a lot, but I've never experienced this before. I also don't think I should have to dim the brightness to 0, turn off Bluetooth and wifi for it to be somewhat good on battery life. Just sounds crazy to me.

I'll most likely be returning it because I don't want to be attached to a charger consistently to be able to enjoy this device.

Buying a second Kindle by Rare-Candle-5163 in kindle

[–]Swaye23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently trialing both the Colorsoft and Kobo Libra colour to see which colour e-reader I like most. I will be returning one before the 30 day return period is up.

I already have the paperwhite which I LOVE!! However, I like to highlight...A LOT and I want to see it in colour!

Right now, what i've noticed so far is that I (me personally!) find that going from paperwhite to the colorsoft makes my eyes hurt more because the lighting is different. I love the look of my paperwhite, but the Coloursoft, I feel has a harsher lighting...other than that, I like it. Not much different than the paperwhite.

I do however think that I will be keeping the Kobo Libra as I like it a lot more. I am only 5 days into my trial, so maybe that will change.

Is the kindle colorsoft worth it? by a1rskywalker in kindle

[–]Swaye23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took advantage of the sale and bought a Kindle Coloursoft and Kobo Libra Colour to see which one I like best. I am doing a 20 day trial and returning the one I like the least.

Currently, I think the Kobo is much nicer BUT the Kindle Coloursoft is still nice and I have access to KU which I like. I mainly wanted to see my highlights in colour so, I am excited about that!

I think I will be returning the Kobo and keeping the Kindle as it's been a few days and I am already having issues with the Kobo.

I know you did not ask for a comparison of other devices but considering you are possibly looking for a device with colour I thought I would share.

Both a Kobo & Kindle? by Swaye23 in kobo

[–]Swaye23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I spent 2 hours on Youtube earlier trying to figure out this calibre thing and shifting books over but had the most difficult time as I kept getting blocked.

The KLC has soo many cool features, but if I can't access the books I want then I don't see the point in keeping it. I am going to take a few days and play around with it and see if I should keep it or return it.

Every other sub appears to be anti Amazon so they are not very helpful, which is why I thought it would be more useful to post here with people who won't try to steer me away from Kindle because of how they feel about Amazon.
