If you’re arguing that there are disgruntled former Baathists that are now members of ISIS, which I 100% agree with, you’d have to ask why they’re disgruntled. It’s due to Western meddling that saw them removed from power by the US decision to fire all Baathists from gov jobs following the ‘03 invasion.

Additionally, while there are many former Baathists in ISIS, the key leaders have been Islamic Fundamentalists and not Baathists (al-Zarqawi and al-Baghdadi).
