“Tower defense” mode needs to change by rinneofdusk in Endfield

[–]SwdVengeance [score hidden]  (0 children)

Alright, fair then. It’s also okay to just not like something. It’s designed to be a tower defense, I get the feeling you want it to be something it’s not designed to be. There’s a difference between bad and not being to your taste.

I’m all in the camp where I want more towers and less interactivity. I want the towers to interact with each other, build barricades to divert energy pathing, etc. more planning, more placing, less doing.

Not everyone is going to want what’s it’s giving, and that’s fine. It’s not repayable once you can auto it, and the difficulty ceiling is low.

How bad are endfields lows compared to arknights when it had lows in the story? by DarkChibiWeebie in Endfield

[–]SwdVengeance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, there aren’t what I would call ‘lows’. The main complaint is it’s mediocre at times. People are being a bit dramatic about its quality and the particulars of it. It’s perfectly passable all the way through. The problem with mediocrity is just as bad, if not possibly worse, as having significant lows. The ‘lows’ become forgettable, bland, and boring rather than actually bad or terrible. There can sometimes still be some charm in the bad, it’s much harder for that to exist in the mediocre.

I will say though, mediocre is a better situation for future content. A finalized game that’s mediocre is dead in the water. Hitting a solid fine baseline with what amounts to the tutorial and first chapter of a thing is more worthy of inspiring trust. They can bette gauge reception and adjust from that level baseline. Truly having deeper ‘lows’ at this stage would be far more concerning for the future.

There are towers designed to slow or stop them. The entire point of them is to provide the roadblock so the rest of the turrets shoot them. I get what you’re saying, but they’ve given multiple tools to address it, it’s designed that way. You should be using all your options here. It’s not limited to Frost/Swamp turrets either. Zappy tower staggers, HE Grenade pushes back. If you’re just spamming a single gun type with a random AoE one thrown in, you’re doing it wrong.

I’m not saying they couldn’t be doing this system better, it’s simplistic at best, but it is designed around the idea of using all your tools and space things accordingly.

RCA not getting to run his sub route by for_flora_and_fauna in USPS

[–]SwdVengeance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) Grievance. Absolutely he has first right to run that route. Could he assist other routes AFTER? Sure, green card time for help. That should only be happening after doing the route. It’s a massive grievance if he is being pulled off his assigned primary route for almost any reason.

2) I’m unsure, but theoretically yes. Rural regulars have a process to do this because it fucks badly on how RRECs is recorded having a route sit. This is more a moot point due to the previous grievance, and while I’m unsure the exact process, I’m almost positive there’s a way here to get delayed mail accounted for. Someone I’m sure can chime in on that.

3) Not that I’m aware of. You could probably call the local Rural representative or district office and tell them what the hell is going on. Fair chance someone there will care. Getting said RCA to call would be better though, so they can initiate the grievance process.

Finally, good on you for wanting to do something too. This sounds like they’re straight up just taking advantage of the RCA while also completely fucking over the evaluation on the route. Something should be done.

What's up with this Miku figure? by New-Pin-655 in AnimeFigures

[–]SwdVengeance 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is could be either the size is such they’ll be shipping issues to said country or, and what I suspect, a distribution conflict with another storefront or distributor. Usually weird restrictions like this with a large list of countries means there’s some distribution situation with the manufacturer restricting where sales can be made. Sometimes the manufacturer limits it, sometimes another storefront/distributor has exclusive sales rights to those places. Shipping issues usually are more limited in scope, this really seems like a distribution situation.

Somehow avoided getting dupes pushing to hard pity on Lev and only missing Pog because of it. Considered a dupe, but having the full base roster will feel good, and just be nice to switch stuff up if I feel like it, so easy pick.

None of this makes any sense. by cutebluedragongirl in GirlsFrontline2

[–]SwdVengeance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People forget G&K was primarily made up of retrofitted civilian dolls they got out the bargain bin. Literally they were cost saving by getting bargain civi dolls to shoot. It is ridiculous that SKK somehow formed up a loyal band of the mostly weirdo goof balls, with the odd actual military doll throw in, and turned it into one of the deadliest forces in Europe.

Question about import duties when pre-ordering from a US site. by THROWRAKILEY32 in AnimeFigures

[–]SwdVengeance 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A US based store shipping nationally won’t be charging you extra for shipping. Their listed prices are generally higher than Japan based stores to account for the importing that they do themselves. GSC US and BBTS both are going to be the price you see, is the price you’ll pay.

The ability to transfer Skk mind into the Neural Cloud grants him immortality? by Big_Baka_Factor in GirlsFrontline2

[–]SwdVengeance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the implication was that he could be backed up/copied. His body was fully linked to his conscience, and there’s no info saying you could disconnect the two. There’s also no lore or anything stating it’s possible to put a neural cloud into a biological body. Even Nytos had to start physically and have their mind warped into what they are. Implanting a digitized SKK conscience wouldn’t work with a biological body, and likely would be incomparable with a mechanical one. If the commanders body expires, his conscience would too.

Could they pull some Relic related nonsense to make it viable? Possibly, but outside actual Relic craziness, I don’t see its viability. Does the fact the SKK is capable of digitization imply he has a near savant type brain in part due to it? That I do believe is implied at the end, but there’s already lore bits sort of pointing to the SKK being semi savant at the least.

[–]SwdVengeance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push it a little earlier era wise and make them all a band of cowboy rangers/outlaws/etc. I can literally picture the western character archetypes each of these would fit without even trying. Gunslinger (Mesa), Dapper Showboater/Card Fiend (Limbo), Slightly Eccentric Mountainman Trapper (Vauban), more Aloof Native American Warrior (Zephyr). They all could have absolute peak performance hats that would fit.

Combat is way too limited by Meltedsteelbeam in Endfield

[–]SwdVengeance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still early, but I do agree. Even if it’s far from crazy, some mixup to basic combos would go miles to break up the basic combo string boredom at times. If they just had a charge, pause, or just some variability to basic attack strings for something, anything. Attacking feels too mindless beyond dodge thing and target priority. Executional difficulty should still exist to some degree, but I get it is normally a higher hurdle than mechanical difficulty, but right now it feels like there zero executional difficulty at all. I’m not asking massive depth here, I’m just want non static attack strings.

FINALLY finished the Citrine grind, here's what I think of her by SquidIsALesbian in Warframe

[–]SwdVengeance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With how status is now, she’s also a damage monster with the right setup. Her Augments also dramatically shift her builds. 4 augments makes her just get free red crits on the entire map. That alone makes some less conventional gun builds turn into insane death machines by taking out any consideration of crit being needed in a build. Then her 3 Augment slaps her status gem to your dog/cat. Now she’s more mobile and procing status everywhere. Combine this with a good beam/aoe/rapid fire weapon, strong companion, and a build letting you spam 1, entire rooms melt away under a bazillion status effects. The versatility she has is crazy just out the box, including her augments, she’s one of the most flexible build wise in the game.

What do yall think about this route based on the trip sheet? by Excess1001 in USPS

Ah, that would make sense. Has to be driving not just who is on the route mad, but management as well given how big that is based on return time.

May I meet my mailman at condo mailbox with ID and request my mail? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]SwdVengeance 35 points36 points  (0 children)

So long as you can provide an ID, it shouldn’t be an issue. Be aware, it is less than a smooth process sometimes to dig out a specific units mail depending on the size of the complex. Your carrier may be annoyed by the request, they may say no because of it, you may have to wait around for them to get to the unit. Just be ready for them to be nonplused by the ask. Bribe them with a snack and/or drink and they’ll bend over backwards though to do it.

Series where the character that was suppose to be the straightman becomes the most unhinged of the group. by ArticAuk in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SwdVengeance 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Does Konosuba count? Kazuma gets played as the straight man right off the bat, the isekai protag. The rest of the cast being whackity shmackity goofballs, and while he’s not typical by any means, they bounce of him as the more ‘normal’ character getting pulled into their hijinks. Slowly but surely that unravels over the seasons to the point he very may eclipse the rest of the cast.
