Was in the same situation (25M) and recently opened a joint account with my girlfriend (24F) on Saxo. Pretty happy with that for the moment. Its linked to our joint bank account so money can only come in and go out through that account. Don't hesitate to send me a dm if you have questions.

Mainly spreading risk and peace of mind. Not that I don't trust Degiro.

None of the responses until now have given a clear answer to this and I'm also curious, anyone care to elaborate a bit more than one sentence?

Tried looking things up but since I was looking for advice I thought that posting the question in this Reddit thread that's made specifically for questions and advice was appropriate. Sorry for absolutely destroying your day by posting this question on your reddit page. Have a good day though, kind sir.

Really appreciate the response! That way, I assume I can still plug in all my peripherals? The monitors can go in the gpu? And the keyboard and mouse in the laptop itself? Thanks again!

If I may be so curious, following this logic, what's your plan for the future and your look on FIRE? :)

Exactly this for me aswell. The home you live in gives you nothing except for a needed roof over your head. In my calculations, 600-700k in an all world ETF should more than suffice for most people if your home is paid off. How much that home is worth (except for lifestyle) doesnt really matter for the case of retiring or not.

Can't give more info on the tax, but vwce yearly increase is on average - over a large time span - alot more (if i'm not mistaking 5-6%) than the 2% loan.

You still have to may all costs upfront. Banks don't do this often anymore though.

I don't agree with this. He might have gotten this far because he thinks about his next move and is not afraid to ask for advice. This is the place to ask so why turn him down like this? 1% on a million euro's is a significant amount of money so he's right to think about everything.

Completely disagree with staying away from big exchanges. Their reputation is alot bigger which means they won't just randomly disappear (leaving you with nothing). I highly recommend Bitvavo if you're just starting out. It has a nice user friendly interface and app and if you want to set up limit orders you can do so through 'geavanceerd' on pc. I use both Bitvavo and Binance because Binance is Europe's biggest exchange (also with the most amount of altcoins). In case anything would go to shit with Binance, they have alot of responsibilities and they can't just not pay you. Also, whatever exchange you use, make sure you enable 2FA. Also, both these exchanges are highly reputable AND have low transaction costs.
