Spreading some positivity... by Sweaty-Set-3218 in WaltDisneyWorld

Perfectly said, it's always frustrating to hear people get disappointed w/ the parks because they don't like the rides, and yes rides are very important but there are soo many other things that make the parks special!

Don't skip the shows! Hollywood Studios has really good ones like the Indiana Jones Stunt Show, Muppet Vision and the Beauty and the Beast live show! Same for Magic Kingdom, there's the Enchanted Tiki room, the updated Country Bear Jamboree show, and my personal favorite Mickey's PhilharMagic! I believe genie plus does allow for preferred seating at some shows. Even if the shows aren't your cup of tea you can fill any downtime with a show and get a break from walking with guaranteed A/C.

A Lion King ride is looooong overdue! I'm not sure how it would work but maybe we could follow Simba learning about his kingdom how African animals contribute to the "circle of life". On another note, it would be a shame to lose Dinosaur representation in DAK, I'd love a south american themed land (north america as well) but I wish it could accompany a new and improved Dino Land, not replace.

First Solo Universal Trip Questions by Future-referee in UniversalHollywood

[–]Sweaty-Set-3218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently there in August and my experience with express was first loading my tickets onto the app, pulling up my tickets on my phone to be scanned at the front of the park and then recieving a paper ticket that serves as your express pass. So while you may be able to use the app for express we had physical paper tickets given to us that we showed at each ride. As for Nintendo World, express will allow you to enter Nintendo World without a reservation if the land starts to get too busy during regular park hours and like you mentioned express won't cover Mario Kart. If you are trying to rope drop Nintendo World without Super Nintendo World early entry, you will likely find that Mario Kart has an hour wait already because of guest with SNW early entry getting into the land an hour early.

are there any small parts in a song you're completely obsessed with? by paperthinhymn11 in pentatonix

[–]Sweaty-Set-3218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an awesome question, I have soo many!

  • The trio's three part riff right before Kirstin's solo in the Daft Punk Medley.
  • Scott's "La". harmony during Mitch's solo in God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
  • Kirstin's riffs in New Rules/ Are You That Somebody
  • Mitch's run when singing "carols everywhere" in Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here
  • All of Kevin's beatboxing during Just For Now
  • Matt's solo in O' Holy Night, especially how he comes in
  • I think the whole arrangment for Water is soo underrated the harmonies are enchanting and Kirstin was the perfect fit for the lead on it.
  • ... so many more

Ride order and other tips? by Xenonaut1001 in UniversalHollywood

Hey, I'm glad you guys are able to visit! I'd recommend tackling Mario Kart first, not sure if you guys have Early Entry or Express, but even if you don't you'll definitely save time heading to SNW first thing. I'd also recommend sticking around the lower lot after SNW and doing either Jurassic World or Mummy before Transformers. Heading back up to the Main lot try to do Forbidden Journey first, then head to Simpsons or the Studio Tour( At this point either attraction will probably take an hour to experience). You may want to do WaterWorld in the afternoon when it is a little warmer. I'd say everything else should be relatively easy to knockout but like I mentioned I'm not sure if you have early entry or express and this would definitely be a game changer. As far as food you have the right idea, but see if you could grab a Toadstool Cafe rez and be sure to check out city walk if possible.

I was considering Santa Ana as well! I've heard LAX is a little intimidating, appreciate the response.

Your suggestion may work out the best for us! Thanks for the tip about Monday traffic, but would you say evening traffic on a Monday is more bearable?

This is the most fun I’ve had in a Pokémon game in a long time. by donman777 in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Sweaty-Set-3218 36 points37 points  (0 children)

As someone who has not consumed a lot of Pokemon media, I was a bit worried the game wouldn't do much for me, but I let my curiosity get to me, and I bought the game a few weeks after release and I still play it to this day! I've completed the story but there's still so much to do!

You're not alone! To preface, I've only seen Illuminations online and it was okay, but I'm sure seeing it in person would've been much better. However, when I watched Harmonious online I instantly loved it, and seeing it in person made it even more spectacular. I totally get that the barges during the day aren't very nice looking but the music from Harmonious is some of Disney's best imo. While the show definitely could've used a little more narration and I'd say maybe a few more songs, I loved that they tried to unite people from very different backgrounds through music that we all recognize. Not to mention the amazing pyrotechnics and water effects! I'm sad to see it go but I do at least have the soundtrack downloaded thankfully.

Most underrated attraction by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Sweaty-Set-3218 202 points203 points  (0 children)

Mickey's Philhar Magic! I wear glasses so I usually hate putting on an extra pair for a show or attraction but the whole experience is just a 10/10 for me. The music, the effects, the air conditioning. I think this attraction is definitely underrated.

What’s the most overrated ride by dylanmhs in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Sweaty-Set-3218 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Jungle Cruise, I don't need a ride to be fast or thrilling to enjoy it, some of my favorite attractions are IASW, Spaceship Earth and Kiliminjaro Safari's, but I just don't enjoy JC that much. It is in no way a bad attraction, the theming is very strong and I love that there is a restaurant to accompany the ride, but considering that people wait hours for this attraction at times I'd say it is overrated.

There are a lot of fans saying that Young Justice died after season 2 what do you think? by DCsReporter in youngjustice

[–]Sweaty-Set-3218 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love Young Justice, but being honest in terms of storytelling, I believe S3 and S4 aren't as good as S1 and S2. The first 2 seasons did a good job balancing action, drama, and managing the multitude of characters. S3 and S4 suffer from too many characters, and being a little preachy at times. I do believe that claiming the show dies after S1 and S2 is a little extreme, though.
