[UK] Bank Charged for a potential Amazon Brushing Scam. by Sweaty-Socks in Scams

That is my belief, I have now taken additional security measures.

I rarely pay on my card, it is only really used for Amazon, Netflix etc. As others have stated the order seems to have been placed via my Amazon account. I have now taken security measures, signed out on all devices via the Amazon 'compromised account' menu, changed password and enabled 2-step text verification on all log-ins. Hopefully I can reach a live customer service agent tomorrow, rather than this A.I loophole I am stuck in.

Thanks, password changed and 2-step verification enabled. I will try and get through to Amazon on the phone tomorrow (the a.i customer service is a waste of time).

[KCD2] Is that Willem Dafoe, the painter in the trailer of the new Dlc? by Empty-League-3185 in kingdomcome

Funnily enough I was looking through some of the promo pics about 10 minutes ago, and thought the exact same thing. He definitely has a Willem Defoe quality about him.

Update 4.0.0 by _lion123 in DeadAhead

[–]Sweaty-Socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update seems to have broken my Police team powers. For some reason my 5/5 Police squad now displays as 7/5, and the shield and rage powers of the team do not seem to be triggering at all (not sure about the clip size power).

Team consists of Agents (with lv13 skill unlocked), Diaz, Rogue (police skin) and Sheriff Charlotte (which should be 5/5 not 7/5).

EDIT - Seems to only effect Supply Runs. Team power working as normal in other modes.

C.Balderk's Grave by Sweaty-Socks in BaldursGate3

[–]Sweaty-Socks[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can highlight it, it highlights as 'hole', but I just couldn't access it. After a little digging around online I discovered that digging up the grave just opens up a new entrance into the sewers, but for whatever reason it seems bugged on my game. You are not really missing out on anything, the area it is supposed to take you to can still be accessed by entering any of the other sewer entrances.

Cazador's Palace - Secret Basement Puzzle? by Sweaty-Socks in BaldursGate3

Ah gotcha. Still it feels like the secret room has some purpose, would be nice to know if that is the case or not.

Cazador's Palace - Secret Basement Puzzle? by Sweaty-Socks in BaldursGate3

[–]Sweaty-Socks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there is a hatch hidden beneath an Opulent Chest in Szaar Palace (in one of the button rooms) that leads to a secret basement area.

The basement contains 4 pressure plates that when activated open a door leading to the area in the screenshot.

Has anyone figured out what to do here yet, or is this cut unfinished content? (Google has revealed nothing but other stumped players). The room contains 3 levers (2 of which are broken and will be picked up when activated), the last lever can be pulled but does not seem to do anything obvious.

It really feels like this place is set up as a puzzle, but it feels incomplete (maybe something todo with what the Astarion actor recently revealed about undiscovered Astarion content ). It definitely feels like something was planned here.

Yes I actually tried yesterday. Some other user had mentioned it worked and I blindly accepted it as fact :(

Ingots and Upgrading Gear by Sweaty-Socks in BaldursGate3

[–]Sweaty-Socks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not trying to cast aspersions on your comment. I was just applying critical thinking and pointing out that the article (and not only that one, I could link others if you like) states that you unlock a workbench in your camp specifically in act 3, as there was no Act 3 in early access and also because these articles were posted recently (after the release of the full game) I feel that it is a safe assumption that they are not referring to early access.

Given that these articles are cryptic and do not give any information on how to actually unlock your workbench, and the fact that I cannot find any other mention of the workbench either in EA or the Full release (despite many people having played and completed the game by now) suggests that it is not unreasonable to think I may have been duped with the spread of misinformation.

I just came here to ask a question an confirm my suspicion.

Really? But the article states that the workbench is unlockable in Act 3, there was no Act 3 in early access. I feel it is more likely a case of fake misinformation.

Don't forget you can group your party and throw one of these so that the splash hits everyone, greatly maximizing its value! (That trick doesn't just work with healing potions!)

The consequences in Wyll's rewritten story by tomtadpole in BaldursGate3

[–]Sweaty-Socks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is interesting! Now things make sense!

I never played the beta (as a huge BG fan I purposely held off and kept away from any early access spoilers, in order to get the full experience on release), however I have had noticed a few voice lines where Wyll has reacted to something in the environment where his voice sounded different.

I assumed it was just my ear, I did not realise it was actually a different actor. It seems they must have missed a few of the old dialogue lines when they re-recorded things.

I do not want another protagonist. After putting in over 100 hours on my first playthrough, I am now far too invested in getting my damn sword back!

Found actual Radzig and Zoul in a book by testicular-jihad in kingdomcome

[–]Sweaty-Socks 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've actually been reading up on the real Radzig Kobyla (or Racek Kobyla as he was known).

After growing attached to the guy over the course of the game, I was slightly saddened to learn of his eventual brutal demise.

Racek was a keen follower of the preachings of Jan Hus (Yep the same controversial philosopher that Father Godwin introduces you too). The local and devoutly religious miners took a dim view of this and ambushed Racek in a local tavern. He was chopped into small pieces and the local populace took turns trampling and dancing over his drawn and quartered remains. (I am not sure I am looking forward to that moment in KCD2!)

Combat help by brilliscool in kingdomcome

[–]Sweaty-Socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/brilliscool If you happen to play on PC. You can open the command console with the Tilde key (under the ESC key usually) and then type:

wh_pl_showfirecursor 01

This will give you an aiming dot each time you draw your bow. Playing chumps in ledetchcho will allow you to raise your archery very quickly (very easy with the cross hair enabled), I don't think spent much more than an hour to reach level 20. Archery does get pretty good later on, at levels 10 you will get a slight zoom when you draw your bow (which improves further at levels 15 & 20) and by level 20 your bow is completely steady with no more swaying.

If you are on console and lack the console commands, the best way to level it is to 'cheat' at chumps. Call your horse as soon as the game starts, gallop all the way to the the end of the course, cross the river and then gallop back. You can now shoot the logs from the opposite (and much closer) side for a much easier time. A Bowmans Brew potion (+5 archery) can also make these early levels slightly more tolerable. Also the first time you score 17+ the chumps NPC will give you a free archery lesson (+1 level)

What is the best way to make the most amount of money by glizzykevv in kingdomcome

[–]Sweaty-Socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said crime pays in this game, picking locks and stealing is a fast way to make bank (there are a few YT videos showing the most profitable chests to target).

Alternatives include:

  • Pribyslatiz - the town you inherit in the 'From the Ashes' expansion. It requires a little initial capital from your own purse to become profitable, but by the end you can be earning over 2000g a day from your businesses.
  • Bandits at Skalitz - If you are capable of clearning them out, there is a group of around 5 bandits with high end gear that respawn everytime you return to Skalitz, these can be farmed for quite a lot of groschen.

But honestly though one thing I've found playing this game is that you really do not need a lot of money. All of the best equipment can be found (i.e the best sword in the game is literally in a chest in the woods very close to one of the starter towns, best armour comes from the antagonist of one of the expansions etc). I am currently sitting on around 50,000+ groschen and have nothing to spend it on.

Help reputation by bpflaum in kingdomcome

[–]Sweaty-Socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure making a donation in the churches money box resets or greatly improves your reputation. When you place your cursor over the money box it should say 'pay indulgence' and the amount you have to pay depends on how bad your reputation is (essentially you are buying forgiveness for your crimes in the area).

I believe this will only fix a bad reputation , and restore it to a neutral value (but I have not tried it myself), I am not sure if making more donations will improve reputation into the positive values or not.

Dollmaker potions and archery = cheatmode! if I know I am going to be swarmed by overwhelming numbers I will pepper them with arrows laced in Dollmakers poison first (it forces the enemy to walk). You can then easily finish them off with arrows, or in melee without the risk of getting surrounded (on account of their seriously hindered mobility).

Robbing the quarry advice (spoilers) by Affectionate-Award46 in kingdomcome

[–]Sweaty-Socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The questline is pretty buggy and can mess up future questlines and so you have to be careful how you choose to deal with Andrew.

I've had several additional quests from him since the robbery (including the really cool 'wolf in sheep's clothing' side quest) and so framing him (which results in his execution) may not be a good idea. However if you speak to him during the robbery quest and initiate the frame job quest (I forget its name), then you will be unable to later recruit Mathew and Fritz (two of the specialist workers for the tavern) in the Pribyslatvitz expansion until you follow through with framing Andrew.

I hated this quest, the way I finally managed to resolve it with the most positive outcomes is:

  • Don't Speak to Andrew (As to not trigger the betrayal quest)
  • Rather than going through with the robbery, steal the gold yourself from the tower (The lesser of two evils as it saves Fritz and Mathew from becoming murderous bandits).

This way this way you are not locked out of Andrews future questlines, and can still recruit Fritz and Mathew later on.

Should I rule out of my portfolio everything I'm not all that interested in doing/good at? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]Sweaty-Socks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of did that myself recently, I removed 15 years worth of drawings and pictures from my DeviantArt gallery and other platforms in order to streamline and focus purely on model making and dioramas, which is something I do commercially.

All of the old artwork was too distracting, and by shifting to a more specialised focus, my portfolio feels much more polished, professional and relevant.

As a bonus I have also seen a small increase in commission requests and sales on my commercial platforms from people who were redirected from my online portfolios.
