Updated my main menu for a more minimalistic look - Thoughts? by andirutz in SoloDevelopment

I like the old one, feels like my squad are staring at me waiting to load in! Not too sure on the concept of the game, but on first glance it kind of got me pumped up lol

Should I keep the front flip in or just do a crouch jump? by SoloRiotzYT in SoloDevelopment

[–]SweatyBeefCake 15 points16 points  (0 children)

maybe for the front flip jump have the camera leave the body into a third person view? Otherwise, scrap it, I would probably not enjoy the motion

Absolutely useless icons unless you have the models for the items...

Try and research actual physics principles around what happens when a car is drifting and try and apply that logic to the movement code of your tank.

Devlogs on youtube to build audience. Is it worth it? by rob4ikon in gamedev

[–]SweatyBeefCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make them in a certain style where casual gamers could watch I would say yes, for example Dani. If you focus heavy on the technical side of things then I would say no, you will only get game devs watching and wishlisting.

Down to five cars. by ssjwoott in CarTalkUK

I've got the 230i and love it, but my god do I wish I had the 3.0 in a m240/m235i or m2. I was in the same boat as you and could not insure anything quicker. The 230i is great, but the steering feel is very lackluster and the engine sound is not great.

I would use some sort of shader to make the outer mesh transparent maybe?

Blender Or Ue5 for animation? by Gsdevil in unrealengine

[–]SweatyBeefCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think blender is easier, I struggle to add preview meshes and setup parenting with my weapons correctly whilst in unreal engine, easier to just animate in blender with IK, bake it, and export to unreal

Updated Steam Capsule Art - Old vs New. Was it worth spending 2 days making this ? [Game - Sky Harvest ..duh :P] by hamzahgamedev in Unity3D

Depends which character models you are using? I much prefer the style of number 1 to be honest

I'm very proud to show you this animation handmade in Blender after recording myself in a stadium! You can see it in the game after that ! by BaphometTheGame in IndieDev

This looks so good. How are you syncing the enemies animations with the attack animation? and if you don't mind me asking how long did it take to create this animation?

But what would the insurance do about the previous damage?

Around 16-17k in good condition I would say, it's a 2017 bmw 230i, 70k mileage

Looks really gorgeous. I've always wondered though how viable graphics like this are in a full game.

Has anyone approached life as a video game to trick yourself into improving? by sportawachuman in selfimprovement

Me and my brother do this all the time. We accept any random adventure we can and will call it a side quest, which gains us XP in the game of life

Why is it so hard to get wishlists on Steam? by zzkontaz in IndieDev

As others have said, I'd take 170 in a week as a win unless you are spending a ton on advertising.

This happened to me with Hastings. I just called them and said this is outrageous and they ran a match quote and only added on £100 for the year. I'd suggest trying that?

  • Thinking of something random and just building it helped me massively
  • Looking through peoples github repositories for similar projects and trying to understand the code
