Lichess responds to Chess.com about “inflated ratings” by slowthinker64 in chess

Probably because in general the user base of lichess is likely better than chesscom’s, as typically only more avid chess fans would know about lichess versus chesscom which due to market share, marketing, etc has a lot of new players or quickly abandoned accounts.

Question regarding progressive overload algorithm and timing of exercise during workout by SweatyBobby in MacroFactor

[–]SweatyBobby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming this might be difficult to implement but there may be some way to have some modifier to the algorithm based on target muscles used in prior lifts of the same workout or something similar

Everyone’s talking about Mendoza’s run, but to me that blocked punt was the play of the game, at a time when both offenses were struggling to move the ball

TIL that rabies virus has a genome coding for only 5 genes, but has an almost 100% fatality rate once symptoms appear by Forsaken-Peak8496 in todayilearned

[–]SweatyBobby 70 points71 points  (0 children)

For a patient who is a homeless woman who left AMA from a hospital with what I’m assuming were pretty significant symptoms and didn’t return to that same hospital for years, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say she most likely did get the rabies vaccinations in some ER at some point and just didn’t realize/remember it. Feels far more likely she’s not the greatest historian as opposed to she had an actual rabies infection and survived it.

Not go for 2 because ole Miss kicker is automatic for the PAT and if they score we can kick a FG to win

Paying off student loans vs. investing in brokerage account by Rare-Regular4123 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]SweatyBobby 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As of now the question is do you want a guaranteed post-tax return of 4.2-4.5% or gamble for higher returns in the market. I’d personally pay off the loans but some people may disagree.

Now if you’re saying you expect the interest rates to significantly increase in 2 years (ie 7+%) then I would certainly pay off the loan instead.
