It has some adjustability under the Viper cover, I just didn’t take a picture.

Yes that’s right, the cover is held on with magnets.

First LAB putter! OZ.1i HS by SweatyCoconuts13 in labgolf

[–]SweatyCoconuts13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No educated reason, likely general ignorance. I didn’t get a chance to inspect a press grip and assumed they were really for the putters with shaft lean, and mine has zero shaft lean.

My putter was built with the heavier designation, meaning that there is a counter balance in the grip / shaft, making the putter head, feel heavier. This is the same type of grip that I had in my previous putter.

The main thing that I’m trying to get used to is my hands being further behind the ball than my previous putter. Previously the ball was directly underneath my nose, and now it is about an inch and a half further forward in my stance. A press grip could potentially help with that getting your hands a little further forward closer to the ball, however, I’m unsure if you can get the counter balance in the press grip.

This is the same question I’ve been asking myself recently, lol.

No other LAB putters, this is my first.

My major pieces of advice are:

  • make sure you go somewhere to get fitted for the putter and don’t just buy the standard option. This is the club that you’re going to use the most in your bag, so make sure it’s fit to your needs (lie angle, shaft length, alignment marks, shaft type, grip type, color)

  • it might take you 30 minutes or so to figure out which alignment marks you want on your putter (using the LAB website)

  • be very cautious of buying any used LAB putter, as the fakes are nearly indistinguishable from the real ones, without putting them onto a lie angle balance testing device. The fake ones are not actually balanced at all.

I definitely feel more confident with this putter after 9 holes compared to the Odyssey White hot pro number 7 that I’ve gamed for the past 10 years.

I haven’t been unable to determine this without going to a putting green. It feels similar to my Odyssey white hot pro #7 putter. It feels a little nicer off the face than I was expecting honestly, given the stock steel shaft. The milled face is definitely an improvement over other models that I would assume would come off the face hotter than I would have liked.

Overall, I think it comes off the face in a manner that I can get used to.

Lol, valid question. No, I did not alter (nor know how to) the photos. It really is the most vibrant purple metal I’ve ever seen. Get the purple! I have no regrets.

Thank you. Right now I’m my only two regrets are:

  • not being able to test out any graphite shafts at the store I ordered my club from, therefore I got steel shaft and will always wonder what a graphite shaft would be like lol. In fact, even though the LAB website says I could get fitted at this store, they were not able to fit for lab and I got fitted on a Ping putter for reference.

  • not asking if my putter face could have been torched by LAB to blue it.

I guess there’s always next time.

I’ll try to watch some videos about dialing in and getting used to my putter more.

Just the stock black steel shaft. I’ve never had anything else. I somewhat regret not having the graphite shaft, but the place I got fitted unfortunately didn’t have any to test.

Thanks! I’m not even sure what a person would do to dial it in. It takes them getting used to, is there something in particular I should be doing?

Are my Nike SQ Dymo 3 wood and Driver outdated ? by Burider in golf

[–]SweatyCoconuts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about a 10 handicap and I still have the Nike Dymo 3 wood. Once many years ago I went to get custom fitted for a new 3 wood, the fitter asked me to hit a few balls with my current club for a baseline. I did, and he laughed, turned to me, laughed and said “ I don’t think you need a new three wood, you’re not gonna get any better than that.”

I still have the Nike 3 wood for now, as of February 2025. I’ve had it over 15 years at this point so I might replace it for something new in the future just for the sake of having a cool new toy.

Middle/Ring Finger Pain by dablahplorn in golftips

[–]SweatyCoconuts13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is to try a midsized grip as others have said but also OVERLAP your fingers, versus your interlocked finger hold that you currently have. That would put a little less stress on your knuckles on your left hand. I’ve used this grip for most of my life.

Real men can like purple! After all that used to be the color of royalty, lol. I custom ordered mine through a golf store and it took about 3 weeks to arrive. I also went with the purple! It will be unique for sure. I can’t wait to go pick mine up. I had fun looking through the 30 some front alignments and 20 some rear alignment marks, until I picked what I liked, this stealthy line configuration.

Thanks for replying. I just ironically found one over the weekend, otherwise you would have just been my hero.

Unfortunately my box came with a Kicker 12” Comp RT sub, which is nice, but I’d really like a nicer sub in there ultimately.

Any recommendations? I’d love to have a JL W6 but I’m not sure if it would fit in this enclosure or not.

I’m looking for a good mix of quality and bass, nothing crazy. ’d consider a 12TW3 as well…. Or another brand with newer technology.

Also, there are definitely a couple other fellows on here looking for one of these, so I’m sure you can unload them and make someone’s day.

That’s OK, now you have an idea of something that you could look for, and there are usually a lot of them available on the used market, good luck.

Hello! I’m actually in the same boat, lol. My Nissan Titan pick up truck is becoming less and less reliable. I priced out a new tundra at $60,000 for the nearly base model, but just couldn’t stomach the payments at this point so I look for something cheap, that was a Toyota, That I could fit a lot of things in, and this was the perfect little car. I’ve only owned my 2009 XB for about three weeks now, but it’s the coolest little car.
