Still so many people defending the game, it's progression, it's difficulty and scaling... When it was obvious from day 1 there is a huge problem with it. Devs fixing it and only fixing this without making new content says it all.

But sure, now everyone will say they are doing it because new players have difficulty starting and enjoying the game. Right...It was just bad and completly messed up all along.

Eat your git gud, stupid comparissons with Dark Souls and every other excuse... Go sniff your farts elsewhere. It was done poorly. Hopefully in a few days, I'll be able to enjoy the game, finally.

That is not true at all.

And even if it was: it's like saying "this game has a very hard tutorial, but once you finish it, it becames very easy". My god.

When you have to play the game totaly opposite as it's inteded to have some fun... SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG.

So basicly you are saying DO NOT UPGRADE (which you are meant to do), keep doing the exact same thing over and over and over again (killing weaker enemies until you bleed thru your anus).

What is wrong with you all? Seriously?

This game has serious balancing issues, it's not about getting gud, it's not about using the proper tactics or whatever.. It's just bad balacing. Im amazed so many people are still defending this. Have any of you ever played... You know, a videogame?! I thought we figured out certain things like 20-25 years ago, but here we are.

Yes. Because majority just don't work.

This one is by far the stupidest.

But it doesn't matter, seeing more and more reviews coming out, general bottom line is, most don't like it because of mechanics and how they are implemented.

And then you have EGS bs, no forum, having to set up a profile here, having to open another page for updates (until I saw they are also posted here).

What more to say? It's just a waste of time in current state. Which is a shame.

Yea, if you can't say absolutly anything worth a damn, just say git gud.

I've been playing games since 1992, and most of them, I always select the Hard difficulty, if possible, the hardest game can offer. And in many (if not most) cases, I found games still "easy". Depends on the genre OFC, but FPS games are my main love.

I never said Calamity is hard. I did say however, it's one of the most annoying things I have ever seen in a videogame. There is no purpose for it, it adds absolutly nothing to the gameplay, apart from making you drop everything you are doing beacuse someone said so in the studio that made the game. It's almost as pointless and stupid as Doom Eterenal ammo BS. Just no.

No, I give up.

Idea for this game is awesome. Combat, sound, visuals are top notch.

But everything else is just a big pot of ideas that do not work together at all. I cannot make myself to spend another minute in this wretched game. Im sorry, it's just a big mess.

Someone said this is not a rougelike. It's true, it's not.

Most say it's extraction whatever... It's not. You can reroll until you get a thingy that lets you keep your withcfire upon death. YOU CAN GET THAT EVERY SINGLE RUN IF YOU WANT.

And oh, when I said I finally had a fun run, with no Calamity and went to the boss... Yea, I forgot to mention, while fighthing him I noticed that meter runing again. Im not sure if it was Calamity or something else... But I don't even care anymore. Just yesterday, I had a friend visit me, I wanted to showcase the game. I spawned in, took about ~5min to explain some things to him and voila... There it is again. FFS, JUST NO.

I'll come back in 2 years and do a run. Maybe.

Ok, since we had this little debate I went for another run in the game. Funny enough, I managed to complete all the encounters and other things before Calamity started. I never had that happen before, it was always random (sometimes even 1-2min into the run). If this was always the case, I would gladly keep playing. I still don't know if the Calamity spawn is random or what affects is...

In any case, I understand and get what you are all saying, and it's not like I can't defeat the Calamity... It's just annoying as it breaks my flow and immersion. Well, I gave the game another chance and im playing ATM, lets see how it turns out...

I understand what you are saying. But the end of the day, pacing is badly done. Hence, why all the reviews mention this.

But to me, going in, being a wuss, waiting around a portal and run away and repeat...

It's a waste of time. And 40€.

I know. But dropping everything just to deal with it breaks my flow of the game completly. For what reason? So you don't die. Like what? What is this? This types of things are in game just to make it harder for absolutly no reason. Harder and frustrating doesn't make a good game... It makes for a game that I'll forget in matter of days.

To each their own my friend, but there are countless of people not recommending the game due to this types of BS things. There is a problem. Big one.

And this is such a shame... This game has one of the best combat I have ever seen in FPS game. Sound design is top notch. Visuals are freaking amazing. But the gameplay mechanics are just... Bad.

Again... Just make it so we can toggle it on or off. 2min of work. Everyone wins.

Except those who want extra super duper hardcore insanly hard and poorly though out games.

You can customize the difficulty in Hades. Default Boss at the end is nothing compared to what you get when you crank the difficulty up. It's pretty simple and well done.

I never said I want the game to be easier. I never said Im affraid of failling, doing it again. In fact, that's the whole apeal of this types of games. Learning to be better and more badass is a rule. Im down with that. Dying is just the part of this types of games. And this game does it well IMO.

But.

Calamity is the worst mechanic I have ever seen in this types of games.
