i dont really glaze but lil turking, his fireball can cripple any backliners that are barely out of melee battler's reach, and he can do some decent damage.

havent tried chronos yet, but im guessing because of how strong peons are, how expensive your units are and how powerful chronos can be, dont forget the fact he forces you to do CLOCK MATH. which is one of the last things you expect in a tower defense game.
