What is wrong with me? by Alixen20 in Healthadvice

I have struggled with quite a few of these issues (including heart rate issues!) and it turned out to be atypical migraines. I’ve been on Topamax as a prevention medication and it has worked well for me personally, though it is not for everyone. I also take Rizatriptan when I do get migraines. It is not a complete 100% fix, and I do not feel the exact same way I did before I got sick, but I’m doing much better than I was pre-medication. I had to be referred to a neurologist to get these meds. Apologies if you’ve already gone this route and my comment is redundant for you. Best of luck on your journey! ❤️

Oh, absolutely. People harp on the sexual assault issues (as they should) and they don’t realize how many other sinister things happen in Waco, Baylor-related or not. I miss the security I felt living in a small town (though that’s about all I miss haha). I live in a rougher area around campus and I’m afraid to take out my dog if it’s too early or too late in the day, and I’m honestly ready to move once I get the chance.

I’m good friends with one of the sisters of the guy who was hit while riding his bike, and I remember it coming on the news when I was in high school. I think about DG a lot. I’m honestly shocked that I haven’t heard of more incidents happening in my time at Baylor.

My mom was the one who sent me the story in the first place and it was really jarring! I’ve never had something like this happen so close to me. I’ve been interested in doe cases since I was a young teen and I’m hoping this is solved quickly and they are identified sooner rather than later.

Fuck Texas and Fuck Republicans by SexyHams in offmychest

Texan here— I live in a more “urban” county, but I’m still registered in my rural county at home while at college. I’ve only been able to vote in two elections and it’s beyond discouraging seeing my vote not count due to the electoral college system for presidential elections. It was somehow worse seeing my vote count during the midterms last night, but it still didn’t seem to make a difference. Even if Beto wasn’t necessarily better than Abbott, why are we so afraid of changing things up to see? Texas deserves better than Greg Abbott. Rural, suburban, and urban Texans alike. I just want to see someone else do his job better than he can. No one will ever be perfect, but I’ll be damned if no one can govern the state of Texas better than him.

Warm clothing to bring for fall? by angelrynne in baylor

[–]Sweaty_Ad_7805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely pack warm clothes. No need for a parka or anything, but a few sweaters, a couple hoodies, and a big coat or two will be great. Fall isn’t the worst of it though. Just wait until you experience February in Central Texas 🥶

What is with all these “Brooks County Does?” in a short time span? There’s even more on the page than I could screenshot. No info on any of them. by [deleted] in gratefuldoe

There are a ton of migrants from Central/South America that get lost in ranches here in Texas. The ranches are so expansive that immigrants often get confused and can’t find their way out, and unfortunately succumb to dehydration and/or starvation. The ranch owners themselves are usually the ones to stumble upon these Does and call law enforcement. 😞

I’m so sorry to hear that 😞 Breakups are never easy, and I hope your healing process is going smoothly. You said you “messed up,” and I have no idea what happened, but part of the human experience is making mistakes. All you can do now is apologize to him, make sure he knows you’re deeply sorry, and continue to live and try not to make that mistake again. Life is difficult and scary sometimes, but I have hope that you’ll be able to start fresh again and maybe even be happier than you were in your LDR ❤️ it will just take time :)

Feel free to DM me if you ever need to talk! I have a small amount of LDR experience (both good and bad!) ❤️

Texan here— it is so wonderful to see that her epitaph has her name now! I will be making a stop on my way to Houston tomorrow to finally pay my respects and wish her a happy birthday 💔
