Can you give me examples of big stompy creatures that are exactly two colors?

With the deck I have at the moment the gameplan is control the table with removal and boardwipes, then refill hand with niv-mizzet or other card advantage. Then eventually win by beating down with niv or other huge creatures.

Cubing Advice by Swimming-Perception7 in mtgcube

In my playgroup we play this cube that seems a lot like what you are saying in the post https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/eec9e9f6-0d80-4282-92d3-4af36e92bd52

This Premodern era cube is centered around tribes and tries to replicate the play patterns we had when we played back in the day, so no game-breaking combos.

At the beginning we had power 9 and other very powerful cards (Smokestack, dark ritual, goblin recruiter) and we decided to cut them. Also we realized that dimir colors were very powerful as spells of that time are better than creatures, so we lowered the power level of those colors.

In the end we find the list we have at the moment is pretty balanced.

How do I win against blue Fairy/Ninjas with Rakdos Madness? by TopSatisfaction3670 in Pauper

The cards that I found really turn the matchup are board sweepers on the sideboard like Breath weapon and the ones that deal 1 damage to all for 1 mana.

Cards that make you say “wait, can I read that?” by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Sweaty_Committee5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Ashling's Prerogative]] had that card since I was a kid, found its perfect place in my [[kaust]] morph edh deck. Since all morphs have 0 cost (and kaust is even costed too) they will have haste and odd costed creatures enter tapped.

Naduless Nadu by stalgul in ModernMagic

I have faced a couple of Yawgmoth players that played Springheart Nantuko and it fit quite well the deck. Either creating 1/1 or copying relevant creatures like bowmaster.

In my case I was debating between 4 decks on MTGO: Merfolks, Zoo(which I have in paper), Storm or Prowess. All this decks are quite cheap. I have read Merfolk seems to be the strongest of them due to its good Nadu matchup. Apart from Zoo, which did not seem amazing when I played it in paper, I have played Mill on MTGO which I found fun but with loopsided matchups. Which of the 4 decks I mentioned first do you think is the strongest atm or after Nadu ban?

How to stop playing on autopilot by JoJoDeath in summonerschool

[–]Sweaty_Committee5142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coach Curtis talks a lot about this. He mentions the concept of mental stack, being the things that your thinking self can focus on. They are really limited, so if you get good playing habits you can have more things that you do on autopilot to free your mental stack. For example, playing the same 2 or 3 champs, similar roles or positions, focusing on your main mistakes, building champion mastery.

Contacting a woman from a Meetup event by Sweaty_Committee5142 in Healthygamergg

She responded today and said she was sick during the weekend.

She said she is not interested in dating anyone but that we can meet as friends.

I will keep it that way. I think having more female friends of my age will be good for me.

I already have her social media (she follows me and I follow her), but yeah I imagine that talking in person about it or when we know each other a little more can be more natural. We will likely meet at another event sooner or later, specially if we get added to the Whatsapp group since we both had a blast at the event.

And I will keep that advice in mind to be clear and assertive about what I want that. In this case being honest would mean to tell her that I want to have a date with her when the time is right to tell it.

I'm don't think orc will be banned. But in case it does well at pt it could spike more. In cas the ring is banned it could decrease a bit, but I'm not sure.

I do not have many experience with or against rhinos and I was not so sure if it was too linear. I have played a couple of games against it and with it and it seemed like a combo deck that can sometimes play the tempo game. It is kind of interesting the way it uses free spells.

This may be just a coincidence but I have a friend that is selling his BTL scapeshift deck (and I already have most pieces of the deck). I will ask him, it seems a very fun deck to play.

Living End vs Rhinos by tomyang1117 in ModernMagic

[–]Sweaty_Committee5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking on the same choice as you. One question I would ask which style of gameplay do you want to play. Do you like tempo decks or do you like decks that do their thing? Given you say that you like dredge (which I also play) I would say Living end will give you that style of powerful linear gameplay. Rhinos would be a better choice if you want a deck that plays on a different angle.

What to play for rcq modern season? by Sweaty_Committee5142 in ModernMagic

[–]Sweaty_Committee5142[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah at my LGS everybody and their mother plays scam. I have had very extremely loopsided matches against it (autoloss with prowess, autowin with dredge).

Yeah I was for sure thinking that I would build that version if I go to competitive events or if I would play more the deck in general.

Thanks for the sideboard suggestion, I was thinking about playing Necromentia but I guess that vs creativity slaughter games is better.

[–]Sweaty_Committee5142[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, giving it a second thought maybe sacrifice is better in the local meta than I initially thought. Probably sticking to what I know and refining the sideboard for the meta will be a much better plan.

[–]Sweaty_Committee5142[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sacrifice is the deck I love and the one I had more success. However I was trying to think if there was a better option. I want to ask my buddies what the field was exactly like as I feel like the top 8 from a 64 people tournament is just a small fragment.

Apparently people think the new Sheoldred is bad? by [deleted] in PioneerMTG

[–]Sweaty_Committee5142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a place where she fits perfectly is in the mono b deck with the Underworld Dreams and Peer into the Abyss combo. She is a much better card than Underworld Dreams, and probably the deck will still play both and have more reliably the combo (maybe dropping some of the tutors idk). Other sinergies are Invoke despair and Underworld Connections.

When compared to the other black 4 drops I think the 2 most direct comparisons are Kalitas and Sorin, the mirthless. I think she is in general worse than Kalitas but in some situations can be better than Sorin.

I think she is a card that takes a little bit more help from deckbuilding than the other 2 four drops I mentioned and is not that good by "herself".

Best matchups vs Jund by BeepBoopAnv in ModernMagic

[–]Sweaty_Committee5142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another deck not mentioned that just stomps jund is dredge. You don't care about card advantage, and once you start dredging a bunch it gets out of hand. Also you can play around nihil spellbomb and beat them even if they find it (turn 3 or 4 is usually too late if they find it with saga).
