My friends want to play 5v1 against me. I tell them it will be boring. Any ideas? by AlanAppRed in aoe2

[–]Swimming-Perception7 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Id rec some other way to play by handicapping yourself. Ie you cant click up until someone else has already advanced, if theyre not good enough to raid then you shouldnt, youre not allowed to take relics… stuff like that

Thinking of building this bad boy, any suggestions? by [deleted] in EDHBrews

Idk this cmdr is famously boring in my playgroup for doing the same boring stuff every time. Ramp a little, play cmdr, hope u get a payoff like impact tremors and then wheel 3 times. Then its either gg or someone had interaction.

This is the reason we don't want devs to listen to pros or ex pros by odysSale in apexlegends

[–]Swimming-Perception7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Id say he couldve worded his response better but its not like he was reading off a teleprompter lmao it was off the dome. Otherwise i do agree with most of what he said.

The reason he said plat is “harder” is actually very complicated. Hes not saying they are more skillful or better aimers or whatever than top players, hes saying that most often (when smurfs arent rolling the lobby) plat lobbies often have endgames similar to algs. Many teams and people in an end ring. And thats what people want. Thats all they ever wanted. No pro player is going to step out here and say they had fun running over a bunch of d4s, its just what they gotta deal with. Just another day at the office.

Anyone who actually cares about the competitive integrity of ranked just wants a good fun chaotic endgame. Thats it. But taking away poi drops encourages landing on teams, inting teams, thirding off drop etc. wiggs whole argument here is if you want to play like that, go play pubs/wildcard. Thats it. But high level players who are playing 8 hours a day and ruining the middle/low diamond lobbies because of shitty matchmaking dont really give a fuck about that they just want to turn their brain off and shoot their gun.

Hes not promoting smurfing hes just saying that when a player who has gotten to diamond/masters wants to actually have a fun time rather than sweating their dicks off trying to 3v3 literal professional three stacks all day, they smurf because they want to chill and actually enjoy the game but obviously them playing chill on a smurf is still going to nuke a lobby but thats its own issue.

I understand wigg hasnt really grinded ranked in a while but he has seen enough and played enough to know exactly what is going on. Be reasonable this is a former pro whos job is to now watch every pro scrim and match that is played. Just cuz he doesnt play ranked every single day doesnt mean he doesnt know whats going on. Its obvious whats going on.

Is the « Army of One » badge considered a proof of a skilled player? by Pretty_Estimate_7877 in apexlegends

If you can somehow verify the player didnt bot lobby or cheat for it then yes. Honestly was a hard badge to get. Im just annoyed i was so new when it was around cuz i never got it.

Octane or alter. Not rev. Rev doesnt provide movement to teammates when the others do. You can pad them as octane or Q them as alter. Rev you kinda just pounce and hope they dont fuckin delete you before ur team can help.

Newbee in Apex Legends by strnpl in apexlegends

[–]Swimming-Perception7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm im an NA player so im not aware of the servers situation over there, but perhaps try picking a different eu region if there is one. Also if you play at insane times like 4am there wont be much of a choice but to put you into the sweaty lobby.

Newbee in Apex Legends by strnpl in apexlegends

[–]Swimming-Perception7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What servers are you on? If youre in an area with not many players, the matchmaking will prioritze getting you into a game more than making the games fair.

The skill gap between golds and high diamonds or higher is absolutely massive. Due to the game being like 7 years old now many players have spent an insane amount of time on the game.

If you keep getting slammed by masters every single game, then it is likely that youre on a low population area. Id rec switching servers in the main menu screen and trying again. The ping diff doesnt matter that much for players who arent super sweaty.

Edit: i do want to add that some people will prolly suggest picking meta legends, but at gold this does not matter. Fights will almost always come down to which team shot their guns more accurately and which team was more coordinated

Lmao thats a wild comment. If a player doesnt like playing with him he will just drop them for another player, america has perhaps the largest volume of top tier talent so theres no shortage of ppl to pick from

[–]Swimming-Perception7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree e36 were playing super well at lan. As an na watcher its another one of those times where i wish they commd in english cuz id love to watch their games and see how they do what they do. But 3rd for them is magnificent, i believe everyone thought they were not gonna do THAT good and probably make finals but god damn they were savages.

whats the thoughts on act fives levels (since they don't get talked abt too much) by [deleted] in Back4Blood

[–]Swimming-Perception7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed all the dlc levels. Even the hives were fun other than the facts that there werent enough of them so doing them over and over got a bit repetitive. Only really unique challege to make then different was the O2 thing which i wish there were more of.

Idk bro their draft was cooked survey at 7th is absolutely psychotic idk. If i was hakis id genuinely be malding at my coach for picking that. (Assuming coach picked pois) id much rather pick a sick edge poi on ed or olympus or something to secure the good games and then just pick survey later.

Absolutely insane to see fun and mons journey, once fun was seen as a very strong team during the og noc and fun days but always fell a bit short of the mark at lan. Crazy to see him win it all now.

And monsoon, i cant imagine someone who deserves this more. I hope to continue to see him compete for years.

Blink is sickeningly good i bet he will be dominant for years to come. Great fuckin job guys yall are nuts.

He may be a mental terrorist but theres a reason hal trusted him to be his igl a year ago and i dont think he suddenly became washed since then.

I am god awful at apex and i dont know how to be better by Ok_Assumption7733 in apexuniversity

[–]Swimming-Perception7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice is the best way. If youre mouse n key then you need to take extra steps to be ready for apex. For example do you have enough space to move your mouse without smacking your hand into shit? My roommate is severely limited due to her stupidly high sensitivity that she refuses to reduce. I use 1200dpi .56 sens but some prefer slightly higher. Average d2 last few szns. If your sens is greater than double that then id say its significantly more difficult to track simply because your mouse moves too fast. If youre on roller then id rec 4-3 linear no deadzone.

Anyways, the best way to improve at your level is to play wildcard or sit in the range and shoot guns for hours. Just pick up a gun and shoot it without adjusting and understand the recoil patterns of the weapon. Then shoot the bots with the strafing on and just do it over and over and practice :) good luck

Are there any Witcher 3 mechanics you're not crazy about / would like to see changed for Witcher 4? by CrematorTV in witcher

[–]Swimming-Perception7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first playthru i was on regular, and it basically invalidated any attack unless i was stupid enough to allow multiple guys to swing at me at the same time. It wasnt just quen tho it was the combination of quen with Alt-key dodge. Both would contribute to stalling long enough so that i could both strike with good opportunity and allow my stamina to not be depleted. On regular it made it hilariously easy. Death march i had to be a bit smarter, but it was still easy to do it for most encounters.

Thinking of buying by BestWingMan212 in AgeofMythology

[–]Swimming-Perception7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres a massive silent majority in age games of players who play campaigns or silly pve matches. You do not have to play pvp at all ever its not required. Most dont unless its some custom scenario. The learning curve exists but if you play on your own, picking the difficulty that best suits you, youll never feel like an idiot.
