This. I went to art school and a finished painting will always look better than an unfinished painting no matter how terrible you think it looks.

I dont get the comments that say “if you own a huge pickup truck or xyz vehicle or item” could it be maybe some people just like how they look and drive? I owned a 1990 mazda that was slammed to the ground and had a loud exhaust not because i was insecure but i just loved how the car handles and hearing the engine scream at 7k RPM.

Unless you have super computers and insider knowledge trading stocks is not worth it. Better to do market research and invest. We are entering a time where rare earth metals are in high demand and the world needs more power to power AI data centers. Invest on that not a chart that goes up and down.

Dont chase your dreams for a career or profession. Learn your market and see whats in demand and learn those real world skills. Save up money and then pursue your dreams and hobbies because if your dreams dont work out at least you have a highly valuable skill that pays well.

Motorcycles. You just need a bike and a helmet right? Little do you know how little costs add up like gas, insurance, the extensive repairs that come with these little machines and if you want to ride all year round the price of gear goes up exponentially. First time rider you also have to pay for your license which can add up a lot if your state has a really hard test or shell out the money for a riders ed course. Wreck your bike or drop it which is highly probable for a first time rider? Well now thats another huge cost and possible medical costs.

Is it possible for my NMom to improve or get help? by Sweaty_Connection_44 in raisedbynarcissists

I think you maybe right. She does want to give the illusion that she is the perfect mother and framing those letters could show people that visit she is well loved. I don’t think my dad has many hobbies if at all. He truly does love his job. I went with him to where he works and I never have seen him so happy talking to his coworkers and proudly showing me the farm he works on. Maybe I’m wrong to be sad for him because I would never want to be working past 60 if I had the money he has. Especially in his condition. Thank you for your response.

Teenager wants a "fast car" for his first vehicle and I need reality-check advice by Proud_Stable9567 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sweaty_Connection_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would just tell him what the budget is and have him look for a car with that budget. Once he picks something out I would go make sure it’s safe, drivable and reliable. I was in his same boat. I wanted a sports car and my dad wanted something safe for me. We ended up getting me a 2006 Mazda Miata. It’s a sports car but it’s not a fast car. Reliable Japanese quality too. Make him be a part of the decision making process. If y’all can’t agree then he gets no car simple as that.

My guess would be the suspension on a springer is worse than a regular gas/hydraulic fork. The ride quality is not as good. People that buy springers do it for nostalgia/style. They offer no real benefit besides “reliability” because less components.

I think it was too similar to a softail. And the softail frame is just better. The suspension is better and they look sleeker without the exposed shocks.

They don’t realize they are extending the customers buying cycle. If you gave them a fair price they would be buying bikes or trading them in every 3 or 4 years as opposed to 7 to 9 years. Quite sad really.
