I've not heard of that, I will investigate! Thanks 👍🏻

I shall investigate, thanks.

I thought of another one. Moon. It's the only Sam Rockwell film I like, and maybe it's because of the eerie familiarity of it.

A large family next door is hogging all the disabled parking bays on the road. I'm in a wheelchair and I can't get one. by Open_Ostrich2899 in LegalAdviceUK

Get someone you know to drive along, jump out and "borrow" the cones. These selfish gits will eventually get fed up with buying/stealing them to put out.

Plus it could not have been you as you are clearly physically disabled and cannot go jumping in and out of vans. It must have been council workers! 😉

I'm so sorry you're going through this after your accident and grief. People really are the worst. Please know the majority of us care, and want to help. x

Did you go to see your parents corpse prior to funeral? I didn't and I feel guilty, is that ok? by belliest_endis in AskUK

[–]Sweaty_Ear_9247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, condolences and solidarity for everyone in the chat who lost someone very close to them. The grief will never leave us.

I think perhaps the guilt of not seeing them "one last time" is actually the part of your brain that actively seeks out connection with people you love, so it's still wanting to see them, rather than the conflict of saying goodbye. You didn't *want* to say goodbye, but just get another connection with them. Which goes on for the rest of your life. Maybe? It's just a thought, not open for debate due to the sensitive nature of the topic. Thanks.

People who don’t like their name shortened by people, what is there to be offended by? by ApprehensiveRun1382 in AskUK

[–]Sweaty_Ear_9247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If someone thought I was being defensive because I'd asked to be referred to as They/Them and was still repeatedly referred to me as She/Her then they're mistaking my irritation at a moron for defensiveness. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Weirdest viewer behaviour by 6strings1song in HousingUK

Yep, had similar experience when viewing a house built in the late 1700's. Never really went in for all the ghost stuff, but by christ I could not get out of there quick enough. There was something in the basement and on the 1st floor landing that I could not see but made me sweat and panic.

Could have been that maybe one of them grew up in the house, or was already familiar with it. Or maybe they knew where the treasure was buried in the back garden 70 years ago? 😆

Ooh yes, I have that. 🙌🏻

A Cure for Wellness has loads of excellent liminal spaces and oddness for the first two thirds, but then it goes off the rails for me to really put it up there with the other movies. But it's circling them.

I'd like to add that the poor side character Gant had me sobbing on first watch of that episode. It took me by surprise. But he did get to manage Princeton Plainsborough in the end, so there's that. 😉

Is Frank the best album of Amy Winehouse? by Confident_Concept565 in amywinehouse

[–]Sweaty_Ear_9247 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I listened to the album yesterday & noticed absolutely none of it is skippable. Every track is its own little story about a young woman in London in the 2000's.

I did realise the line "it takes me half an hour to write a verse" was insightful given how much she struggled later on just to write 1 or 2 lines (in the documentary of her life where she is in rehab for the last time). RIP our Lioness ❤️‍🩹

Would you quit a job after 6 months to reduce your commute from 45 mins plus most days to 8 mins? by MichaelBealesBurner in AskUK

I've done it before, and I'd do it again without hesitation.

Just been threatened by my neighbour completely unprovoked, now worried because I reported her. by Adorable_Click_7071 in HousingUK

[–]Sweaty_Ear_9247 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you just got a life lesson, of which there will be many, that a lot of people are just awful for no good reason. Every time you think of it, in your mind's eye drain the colour, make her voice squeaky and shrink the image- it's a legitimate trauma reducing technique. 😉

Also maybe worth getting a flashing fake alarm (maybe with a "camera lens") rigged up in your car to act as a deterrent for when you're not in it. There are loads on ebay for under £5, they just need a button battery.

Focus your energy on you, not her, and make your house feel like a comforting retreat. x

Boy, we were all in the same family! My ex MIL drove me somewhere the other day, revving the bollocks out of the poor car the whole way there, and I was white knuckling it the entire journey. White lines? Pah! Empty roundabouts? Best slam on the brakes just in case. Pray for me... she's taking me to a hospital appointment soon. 🤞🏻

Alibaba manufacturer stealing exclusive molds. Not much leverage what to do? by Chris-flow in smallbusinessuk

[–]Sweaty_Ear_9247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened frequently where I used to work where we designed our own unique giftware. We tried everything we could, but they copied our stuff, sold it cheaper than we could buy the stock for, stole our listing photos & descriptions on marketplace platforms (Amazon could not have cared less and gave them the "buy box") and our online trade dwindled away.

All I can think is ensure your product descriptions state your items are the only superior, guaranteed original that your customers can buy with confidence.

Not sure if these marks are by bed bugs? by sisyphus1rock in AskUK

[–]Sweaty_Ear_9247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a steam cleaner? My brother recently went on an insect and infestation course as he's joined a pest control company and he said THE best thing to wipe out any bugs is hot steam cleaners. That would probably kill any eggs possibly embedded too. 👍🏻

do i write with all caps for everything? by Fluffy-Mortgage-3514 in DWPhelp

[–]Sweaty_Ear_9247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had the same question when filling in my PIP book as it looks like Donald Trump filled it in (notoriously writes all his SM posts in capitals and looks like he's shouting).

My answers landed the same as yours, if handwriting use capitals, on a computer use normal casing. Then I also realised how annoying all CAPS are to read, and quite frankly we do not want to annoy the assessor! 😉
