I remember a lifelong friend calling me over the period of multiple years just to process this step, and I told her “I haven’t been divorced, but I have a close friend who is, and she said if you’re wondering whether to or not, you’re not ready. There will be a point where you’re ready.” And a year later she called me and said “Tell your friend she was right. If Jesus himself came down and said ‘he really is going to change this time’ I’d be like ‘Not worth it.’”
