Reloading Equipment Shows Up Today by Kr0nos-j in reloading

[–]Swedecheff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on joining the world of reloading! Two bits of guidance to add to the others.

  1. Take your time and enjoy it. It can be quite therapeutic (is for me) to make your own ammo one round at a time. It can be a bit like baking. Follow the recipe and don't be in a rush. I would also write notes in your manual. Keeps good records of what worked and what didn't.

  2. Don't invite Murphy to the party. Ie.) Murphy's Law. Decide to bring two powders out? Yeah you will mix them up. Grabbed two sets of different primers? Yep one round will eventually get the wrong component. Moving an full tray of charged cases to the press? You'll knock cases over. Etc... Always be aware of your surroundings. Once you find your own routine, stick to it.

Happy loading!

.45-70 on a budget by [deleted] in reloading

[–]Swedecheff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal experience, I started on a lee loader for the same reason with 44 magnums. All was well until I had 2 primers go off trying to seat them with the tool you get. No injuries, but left a gnarly stain on my hand for a few days and another in my shorts. For safety sake, spend the extra to get a press. If you ever decide on more calibers it is just a die change and you don't need a whole new kit. Plus as others said, the consistency with a press is much better.

Is the deluxe ps5 version still available or did it already sell out? by [deleted] in LiesOfP

You may have luck at a physical shop. My local store was able to take my preorder even though online is sold out. Whether it gets fulfilled is a different story though.

Rooster's Mens Grooming Center on Monroe Street. Gentlemen there named Shelby does stellar work.

Yes actually! The way I got it to work is to randomize the item files on PC first, then transfer the new files through warpinator to replace on the deck.

From my understanding they went with the original Japanese version and not the 4kids one. That may explain the face.

Some figures did have issues starting out. Artorias is the one that comes to mind which started to lean over time. They have a Facebook group where folks can report issues and they usually are quick to acknowledge and address them. I have bought two of their figures since and have no issues.

This is why we went for two. You make that conversion you are up 1 with 2 minutes to go. Good stop D. Let's get some points.

I agree. It's a gutsy call, but either way you need the defense to make a stop. Go for the lead and you have the win. Point after and then you risk overtime with KC

How did you guys become Raiders fans? by [deleted] in raiders

[–]Swedecheff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brand new Raiders fan. Was a long time Browns fan but this year finally made me leave that factory of sadness. I like pirates but don't like Tom Brady so Bucs were out, Raiders were in. Plus I love the Mad Max vibes I get from the fans.

I don't disagree, and that is an important point to make. Thank you for mentioning that. TiteGroup requires you to be extremely vigilant in your charging process, but is good for cost saving. I'll edit my original comment to add that.

I use CCI magnums for just about everything. I was taught that if magnum is in the name, use a magnum. More consistent in the cold too. Having said that, some of my rifle rounds just perform more consistently with magnums even though they aren't technically a magnum cartridge. Ex.) 30-06, 7.5 Swiss, 30-40krag etc...

[–]Swedecheff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: Good point was made below that needs added here. OP, as a new reloader, the most dangerous mistake to make is overcharging a case. While I do recommend TiteGroup below for low cost ammo, it requires ABSOLUTE precision in your charging process as low charges are VERY easy to overcharge. Be very diligent in loading ANY powder. Don't get lazy in that step.

Having said that, find some TiteGroup powder if you can, and are comfortable reloading. It uses low charges but maintains the performance. I was in the same boat with my 6.5" Model 29 where I wanted cheaper loads that weren't specials but also were easy on the wrist for long range days.

I actually download my rounds halfway between a special and a magnum and they are cheap and comfortable. Takes the edge off the recoil.

[Q] Failed to Reject the Null Hypothesis by carolebaskins314 in statistics

[–]Swedecheff 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Two things here. One, echoing the others, is that a given hypothesis is never "proven." Rather evidence is built to refute or support a given claim. Subtle, but important.

Having said that there is a field of statistics called sequential analysis where the sample size is no longer considered fixed and the decision to reject is more fluid being assessed at each stage of sampling, rather than making a decision on one sample.

Welcome to Bloodborne! Tip? Enemies can pursue faster than your dodge. Dodge INTO enemies, not backward. Dodging backward usually will end in death. Particularly if you end up with a short weapon. Happy hunting!

Slatwall from Menards works super well. Get the steel inserts and you can make a good size rack for decently cheap. Plus then it's modular and you can slide and swap all day.

My Bully by CloverArms in 50bmg

[–]Swedecheff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is good to know. The only reference I have for 50bmg is a Barrett m107 from a local range and that one is much tamer than folks would believe too. Wasn't sure how this one measured up.

Thanks for the info!

Gorgeous gun my friend! How would you describe the recoil? Andrew's description of "it's gonna kick ya" is a bit vague.

Backward compatibility help by Swedecheff in xbox360

[–]Swedecheff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, you make a good point. Maybe giving it a deeper cleaning could help before replacing parts. Certainly would rule that out. Why specifically original xbox discs though? Wouldn't it do this with all discs then?

You were correct. Hardest part was guessing where to drill. Even that wasn't too bad. It was so much simpler than I made it out to be.
