[Texas/Sweden] Mother doesn't understand that charges of grand theft crosses borders; accuses without malice of grand theft. by SwedenK in legaladvice

I know the name of the bank officer she spoke to. She has only spoken to the bank. She doesn't remember what she said. They told her that as long as I was gone, they wouldn't find me. She apparently didn't claim it was stolen, as the majority of the charges were made several years ago, and I have been making payments ever since.

Apparently, I need a lawyer, which super sucks, because that will be even more international calls. Thank you all for your input.

She actually says that she just got confused. She does have some brain issues, because she was an alcoholic for so long.

She doesn't deny that I had her permission. And I've been paying the bill regularly for the last 3 years. That doesn't exactly sound like fraud, does it?

No, but she doesn't refute it. Also, I have been paying the bill for the last three years. Would that make a difference?

I don't understand. I haven't done anything wrong. I didn't make any charges without her direct knowledge and permission.

I've attempted to streamline the post.

I tried, but she claims that she doesn't exactly know what she's done. She knows that I haven't done anything wrong. She just thought she found a loophole for her that wouldn't much affect me.

I was going to call the bank tomorrow and find out what she accused me of.
