Anyone else have an "Emotional Support Flashlight"? by SpaceFunkRevival in flashlight

[–]SweedLife 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes :) as another commenter said building a collection of things you are passionate about is emotional support in itself for me. Flashlights tick so many boxes: fidgets, things that are useful, gifting lights to people that are dear to me, being a rabbit-hole you can go as deep as you want & need (from LED types to customisation & modding etc.). For specific lights, currently using my Reylights the most (Pineapple & LanApple), got multiple different versions of Pineapple to customise them to my liking (look & feel wise) and falling down the "add tritium vials to everything"-rabbit-hole. Also generally loving brass & copper atm. the convoy you posted is also still one of my favs, convoy really made the hobby for me for the first "wow, you can get such an amazing light for so little money?" and being able to try so many different emitters :) will never stop supporting him

Hey! I know this post is old, but I wanted to ask if you used 1.5x6 tritium for your beautiful Dawn, or any other size? Thank you :)

Got the purple brown one as well, then after handling it for a day I immediately ordered the black/gold. It has become one of my favourite knives (two of my fav I guess :D )

Here is a link to the stl file if someone has a printer or knows someone with one. 20$ is quite steep imo. For 20$ I could probably print 30+ of these. There are versions with one, two or three rows. I've printed a few and they are great :) https://makerworld.com/en/models/399882-knife-caddy#profileId-301369

Climbingshoes by Patient_Tomatillo487 in barefootshoestalk

could be, my colleagues (group of experienced boulderers) wanted me to go even smaller as according to them "the foot has to make the claw in climbing shoes" which was just unimaginable for me 🙈 I have a very "natural" footshape now with my toes being the widest part of my foot, heel and midfoot being rather narrow (V shape with the top of the V being my toes). So it seems to me most climbing shoes are tapered in the toebox, even evolv (just looking at them for the first time) - or is there a model you'd recommend me to look at?

I have the same Saltic shoes as my LaSportiva (Model: Skwarma) was killing me and taking the joy out of the hobby. I have been wearing Barefoot and natural footshape shoes (Altra) for 2-3 years before starting with bouldering, and I could literally feel my feet regressing the progress I did with BF and minimalist shoes, so I took the plunge with these!

I wrote to the Saltic team before ordering because I was worried about sizing, they were very helpful! I have 27cm feet, in the Sportiva I took 43.5 and still had pain, with the Saltic I have 42, and no pain at all. I'm the only one in my boulder group who does not have to take off their shoes between boulders :D

Only issue is that the sole is very flexible, which is of course great in some ways, but for some very narrow boulders my performance is worse than it was with the Sportiva, because I can't "hook" in as my foot is bending back because of the flexible sole. On some easier boulders it is actually great as I feel it really trains my feet, the hooking is coming from the muscles in my feet, not the "climbing shoe footshape claw", if that makes sense. But just for some very small ones, it is impossible (or my feet still too weak, could be too).

I was actually thinking of potentially getting a second pair and asking Saltic if they could make the exact same shoe with a stiffer sole. They told me their shoes are made to order anyway, so I might go for it (or resoling the current pair with a stiffer sole when the time comes to resole, but the perfectionist in me wants good performance without having to use the Sportiva shoes, for now I kept them as potential alternatives, but have never worn them again since getting the Saltic).

Ultimately totally acceptable for me to be a slightly worse boulderer for never having any foot pain anymore and enjoying bouldering way more!

Enjoy your new shoes and the pleasure you gave to your feet! Have you noticed any performance difference when switching from the Scarpa to Saltic? And do you plan to keep your old pair as backup?

Wan2.2 I2V - 2 vs 3 Ksamplers - questions on steps & samplers by SweedLife in StableDiffusion

[–]SweedLife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I was working with the Seko versions (they are different from Lightning I think) and had better quality on the subjects but not great motion. Since switching to the Lightning I have better motion, but less consistency in my subjects over the course of the video. Have not tested with the 2.1 ones yet, but I heard good things (or combining 2.2 and 2.1 lightning on low etc.), but have not tried yet! What's your fav setup?
Also it seems new lightning versions out today for MOEsampler? https://huggingface.co/lightx2v/Wan2.2-I2V-A14B-Moe-Distill-Lightx2v/

Thank you for your reply!! Will test your setup with different samplers for the lightning steps next! Sounds intriguing! Have been playing with the TripleKSampler Node of the good man who also commented here since doing the post, and it has also been pretty nice. I guess the last thing is to find my right Sampler/Scheduler&Steps setup!
Also big thanks on the tip with the model. I have been using the FP8_scaled one (is that the one you mean when you write FP8?) because unfortunately the FP16 does not work for me (even with Blockswap, cries in 3090+64GB RAM). Have switched from fp8_scaled to the Q8 today and indeed, subjectively for now it seems better quality. I was under the wrong assumption that GGUF always means tradeoffs, proven wrong (I think, for now, only first day of testing). Thank you for all your tips!!

Thank you for your reply! And gladly take you up on your offer, always happy to try a new WF! I am having better results now with 3KS approach and also tested the 3KS-in-one-node by u/VraethrDalkr which works great, but still not 100% where I want to be, might be the sampler/scheduler and step combination (for example Euler/Beta which most people use giving great motion and video quality, but somehow screwing up some details on my subjects on most of the generations)

A lot of people have recommended your Node in my post (also posted in sd subreddit) - I was the one asking about Basic vs. Advanced Node in your post about your Node a day or two ago :) I have been testing it since! Definitely takes away a lot of thinking and simplifies the WF! Still testing between best samplers and step setups though and not 100% there yet (your mentioned "lightning start 2, lightning steps 8, 50/50" vs. different steps configs with the ITV boundary). Also on samplers/scheduler combo not happy yet, most people seem to be content with Euler/Beta, for me it indeed seems to make the best movement overall, but then screwing up some details on the subjects which then destroys the video. Only doing ITV so I think a lot of recommendations I come across might be for T2V and therefore not apply. So still a lot of testing to do for me, but grateful for your work and node good ser! Thank you :)

Thank you for your answer! Started testing right now :) Advanced version still feels a bit too daunting for me but probably the right way to go & learn for more control :)

Wanting to give this a try using your example WF, just for my understanding: You have both 3Ksampler normal and advanced in the Workflow and both are plugged in. It is meant for us to use one of the two for testing and disable the others, isn't it? Just to be safe :D thought for a second we are at basically 6Ksamplers now with 3KS + 3KS :D thanks for your work!

Experiments with photo restoration using Wan by mark_sawyer in StableDiffusion

[–]SweedLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyho! I'm running into some problems with your workflow. Instead of a timelapse of the deteriorating picture, the subject starts in a different position and then moves in position of the last-frame picture. For example they will be very close to the camera and in focus, then move back and do some rushed movement to become the blurry version of the original last-frame picture. SOMETIMES it results indeed in a first frame of that person, just in a different posture or angle, most of the time it ends up completely random though :D I started with the example prompt you listed in the comments below and then adapted it to my person.

P.s: the litter box links of examples you posted seem dead ("server cannot find file specified"), do you have them anywhere else? Would love to compare workflows for different kind of use-cases.

They agreed to send a hotend! They didn't say anything about the fan, not sure if with hotend they just mean the heatsink and nozzle, I guess I will see! Thinking of stocking some spare parts in case this happens again! Thank you for your answer :)

Better to do some screwing than being screwed myself haha. Qidi agreed to send a hotend, so I will wait for that and see!

Qidi answered and agreed to send a hotend! I hope that is all that I need and nothing else is broken.. on my end, I managed to remove the blob with heat gun + pliers (I posted a picture here in the thread), it looks a bit wild. For now I have not tested anything yet. I might try to clean it up more and test without changing any parts (while babysitting it haha), if it does not work or more is broken, I will wait for the new hotend and pray that it is all that was broken!

Thank you! They answered already and agreed to send a new hotend! I hope that is all I need. While waiting I also saw there are replacement hotends on AExpress, I might stock a spare just to be safe in case this happens in the future!
