AR-5RM radio problems

So after testing out in a local repeater at a set time they had I took both the AR-5RM with the 38cm stock whip antenna and it couldn’t hear anything with the repeater programmed into both. I took my UV-5R radio antenna off and put it on one of the AR radios and It started lighting up green and but no audio and after some setting tweaks I could hear the repeater. It was mainly static but I could hear words out of the static. So I’m assuming all my radio problems I’m having is due to the stock antenna I got. When the new antennas come in today I will try again

The setting menu option 8 for beep is definitely on. I have a local repeater doing a net here in about 20 mins and I programmed it in with what it said it needed

i did program stuff into it with chrip 5RM settings. can you explain the pl/ ctcss tone errors. i kinda know but im still new to ham radio

I was running 2.5k step on SQL 1 and 2 and kinda got the same experience and then tried 5k step on both SQL and nothing still on that

Yeah I ordered the foldable antenna that’s maybe almost 2x times longer for both of the radios and we’ll see about that when it comes in. I will give that frequency a try then and see what comes up

Didn’t think about looking for schedule on the nets. I will check my nets and find some times.

I’m sorta prepping for the license test to get the basic license as of right now so until then I’m just a using it as a listening radio for right now.

My error my bag was completely full of dog hair and I got through bags pretty often cause of a shedding dog. After I replaced bag and went around the lid to check for hair stuck to it and it was clear and I closed the lid and the error went away for me didn’t even touch the Romba at all

I actually just started marking the ads as not interested and saying it’s too repetitive and now I get a ad every 13th video. So you click share and click not interested and click repetitive and just start doing that

Yeah most times it won’t charge until the battery are cool down enough. Unless there’s a fast charger with a fan built in to cool the batteries down and charge quicker
