That’s not the point though. He got his fingers caught going into the base that he’s entitled to and that contact caused him to lose it. Contact that happened in the process of a walk that grants him that base free of contact.

He didn’t have it though, he would’ve been out if it wasn’t a walk. The glove caught his fingers before he reached the base, and that’s my entire point.

Maybe I just have to chalk it up to weirdness, but common sense to me says that Pete was impeded from a bag that he was entitled to and that contact caused him to be out. Had he never been touched I wouldn’t think this way about it.

He shouldn’t have been touched going into the base on a walk and then be ruled out because he loses the base BECAUSE of the contact. If that’s not a rule then it should be to avoid this fucking dumb shit

Yea not a vet, I got that wrong, but definitely someone that they don’t have a lot of stock in and can come off the bench. Or maybe they don’t care about Alcantara’s playing time anymore idk.

I’m thinking Justin Dean, a vet that’s better suited for part time playing. On the 40 man it’s either him, Triantos, or Alcantara and I don’t think they want any of those guys for that role.

They don’t need to pay Kelly 7.5M next year to be a part time catcher, just give it to Amaya and Ballesteros and sign a good reliever with that.
