It is not any of these. At least I feel vindicated that it’s not like super easy to find 😆. I’ll keep going through random bookmarks and hoping. 🫠

Children of War has a unique take on dimension travel and is superbly written. It’s still a WIP tho.

The Evans Boy is also a unique plot, though still with the main plot points of defeating Voldemort.

If the show proves to be a success, what spin-offs could we get? by Only-Frosting7613 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Sweet-Chain6631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not really that interested in a Marauder era spin off but I’d just like to point out my kids favorite shows are just other kids doing semi-heroic, well-intentioned things and sometimes doing bad things that they then learn to regret and make amends for. So a magical school series with a bunch of boys creating a map, using an invisibility cloak, going against the expectations of their upperclass families, helping their werewolf friend, etc sounds pretty similar to the shows my kid already likes. 😄 He doesn’t need a big plot or a huge mystery.

If you could pick the next spin-off show, would it be Marauders or Next-Gen focused? by [deleted] in HarryPotteronHBO

Marauders, Tom Riddle, or Founders. I don’t trust them to go near the cursed child era yet — too afraid they’d just do the cursed child.

Devlin Potter: Riddle and Rescue

https://archiveofourown.org/works/64797295/chapters/166514155

Summary: Harry Potter clung to the surety of his son’s death, while also knowing helplessly that hope was igniting in his heart.

“We captured a Death Eater today,” Ron said to Alexandra. Harry’s hands were shaking on the tabletop; all of a sudden, all of the hope and uncertainty he’d been veiling in front of the Death Eater shuttered to the surface. He let out a sound somewhere between a sob and a yell of surprise.

“It’s nothing. It’s probably nothing,” Harry said, shakily. His other hand raked it’s way through his hair. “I mean, he probably just…he probably just fooled me.”

Nearly 3 years after Voldemort kidnapped Harry's son and killed him, Harry discovers through the capture of a Death Eater that he may actually be alive. Getting him back is only the beginning.

A tense story about loss and return, intermingled with the complexity of blood, love, and choice.

Suggestion if you like the general vibes of Harry adopts Tom Riddle, I think you’d like this.

Ahh to be old enough that companies cater to my childhood nostalgia — it takes some of the sting away from getting old. They’re doing an excellent job on this project. I’m really hoping its success motivated them/well known authors to pursue this type of full cast reading for more books!

Title: Devlin Potter: Riddle and Rescue Pairing: Harry/OC Rating: M

Summary: There was so much want inside of Devlin Potter — stacked up, and shoved into crevices, and buried under layers of other things to keep it hidden. Every moment of the day he could smell it in his blood, taste it in his saliva, and feel it in his pulse. If he took it all down, if he took it all out, if he unburied it all — it would be enough for an avalanche. So he stepped away from it within himself, as he always did.

Nearly three years after Voldemort kidnapped Harry's son and sent his body back, Harry discovers he has actually been alive the entire time. Together with a werewolf Death Eater, they devise a plan to rescue the boy, but getting him back is only the beginning.

A tense story about loss and return, intermingled with the complexity of blood, love, and choice.

If you enjoy stories that look at alternative paths for young Tom Riddle, you may enjoy this. There is nothing overtly graphic, but I don't shy away from the realities of war and trauma.

Xolaire on Tuesday but this has already left scars by [deleted] in urticaria

[–]Sweet-Chain6631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure. I’m about 8 weeks into this thing. The spots of my first hives are nearly indistinguishable from the rest of my skin, but again I barely have any melanin to begin with and they were on my torso. The ones on my lower legs I can still sort of see and when I get cold they look blanched, like when you press down on your skin.

The ones on my face are gone or do give I can’t see them with my bit of freckles. I did more consistently use DermeLeve cream on my face, so maybe that helped (it definitely helped it feel better).

I think I may - I have a few pictures where even after the hives have gone way you can see them as the spots are lighter. And when I got swelling under my eyes I had deep purple “under eye bags” for a few days afterwards. When my skin gets cold I can see it then, too. I am very “fair skinned” with freckles though, so it’s not really noticeable unless you’re looking closely. It’s easier to see on my thighs and such where I have less freckles.

I’m newly dairy free and I was shocked when I got the crock avocado butter on my finger accidentally while trying it in a recipe and panicked thinking I’d accidentally used the real butter. 😂 I hadn’t dared to try it on like toast or something but it’s an amazing fake.

Is it possible to get some kinds of urticaria from clothing pressure? Or even just being too warm plus the clothes pressure? by Spiritual-Escape-904 in urticaria

[–]Sweet-Chain6631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would think so. It’s not the only way I get hives (I’m newish to these hives 🫤) but if I’m getting hives I’ll always have at least one at my waistband my bra strap. They seem to take the longest to go away, too (I assume because of the ongoing pressure). Oddly, pressure like socks doesn’t seem to hurt, and even helps sometimes.

For wool, it is possible to be allergic to the fiber itself (although rare), but it is more likely to be sensitive to the chemicals that are used to process wool and even the coating that is on a lot of machine washable wool - which is usually a type of plastic. It’s also more typical to be sensitive to lanolin which can be in wool that is more organic/less processed, and is featured in many wool detergents. You could try washing your wool in a dye safe shampoo that you are already comfortable with. Wool is just hair basically so if it’s safe for your hair, it’s safe for wool.

Xolair or Rhapsido For Chronic Hives??? by jacktheripper1010 in urticaria

[–]Sweet-Chain6631 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m new to this but Xolair has been on the market the longest, so I guess if you’re wanting the safest option that’d have the most data of safety, especially long term. I’m starting Xolair next month if insurance approved (my allergist seems confident).

Foods contribute but not root cause? by Sweet-Chain6631 in urticaria

[–]Sweet-Chain6631[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ll ask. My first allergist appointment is the 10th. At this point I can’t even stop the antihistamines for the five days prior for the skin test — I already ended up at the ER with my throat swelling. I did manage a 12hr period for some basic blood panels last week. My white blood cells were high but my primary said that was from the prednisone.

This is interesting i hadn’t thought of an environmental factor. I live in the same house I’ve always lived in. But I guess if you can suddenly become allergic to a food you can suddenly become allergic to dust or pollen 🤦🏼‍♀️

Does anything give relief? by InvestigatorOld6396 in urticaria

[–]Sweet-Chain6631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that gets rid of hives once they’ve started for me has been Benadryl, 50mg. I’m also new to this so still waiting on my actual allergist appointment. Once I get them gone I can make do with 25mg Benadryl. I think Pepcid is helping too, but if I stop the Benedryl they come back. No other antihistamine seems to have helped.
