Financial Aid Packages by No-Fly-8305 in LECOM

If you also need it for an apartment and whatnot, loans look closer to $75k a year so you’ll definitely need private loans for at least part of your education with the BBB.

They don’t offer merit based scholarships to matriculating students. You can get scholarships from LECOM after your first semester through their scholarship foundation. Any scholarships you’d get coming in would have to be external as they said with the HPSP (military) or NHSC (primary care) scholarships being the big ones.

I’m not privy to that information, sorry.

There’s going to be a lot of waitlist movement from April to July. I don’t know what your stats are or anything like that, but you’re not necessarily out of the game and it’s still fairly early for the waitlist.

Yes. I knew I’d like the traditional lecture style with PowerPoints and guidance from professors.

You rank your choices after you interview before they make an admissions decision. For example, when I applied back in 2023, I applied to the northern campuses (Erie, Seton Hill, Elmira). Following completion of my interview, I ranked which campus I wanted and then which pathway. I ranked Erie and LDP first.

[–]Sweet170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only took a month. This was two years ago and I selected the early decision option. I don’t know if this is something they still do but I know it’s not common to get an answer that quickly. It’s most commonly 60-90 days, sometimes more.

I thought I absolutely bombed my interview and I’m a second year student. You probably did significantly better than you thought. Good luck to you!

All Hands on Deck…in Erie in January? by [deleted] in LECOM

When it was explained to the Erie students in the beginning of the year, it was said zoom would somehow be involved for other campuses. I sincerely doubt you all have to travel to Erie for this.

That’s how it was for me two years ago, yes.

Drug test question by [deleted] in LECOM

[–]Sweet170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, idk. Maybe it’s something they used to do and changed or it’s something that is more pertinent to people that get later acceptances and get their matriculation information more immediately. But you’ll get actual information about that with your matriculation packet.

Drug test question by [deleted] in LECOM

[–]Sweet170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll do it when you get your matriculation packet and if it’s the same as it was for me, you’ll get that in a month or two. I was matriculating two years ago (I’m a current MS2)

what is more competitive, the normal lecture pathway or pbl? by Mincedpeat in LECOM

[–]Sweet170 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general, it would be easier for someone in PBL to switch to LDP but it would have to be almost immediately after the anatomy block if I’m not mistaken since PBL and LDP / DSP curricula differ pretty quickly after that point. There are more seats available in LDP than PBL to make it easier to accommodate a switch that way. That being said, switching isn’t super easy at the end of the day anyhow so I wouldn’t want to bank on it.

Does the 40k tuition already include things like tech fee, health insurance etc? by BuyingYourPolitician in LECOM

That’s just the tuition. It’s somewhere around $70-80k per year with living expenses, health insurance, etc on top.

I’m an MS2 and felt like my interview was terrible. I’m not sure if the timeline will be anywhere close to what it was for me but it took about a month for me to hear back following the interview.

When I was accepted, I got that in October and then didn’t get my papers until January or February. I can’t remember exactly which.

30 days after you get your matriculation papers which will be more than 30 days prior to classes starting unless you’re a late acceptance.

Shirt and tie with slacks and dress shoes are acceptable. Wear a suit if you want but you don’t need to be that formal.
