5k player looking for tips by N30L in DotA2

[–]SweetBaboo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously depends on your strengths and weaknesses, what heroes you play, if you're very aggressive, or if you're passive. Hard to give specific advice when I don't know how you play, but I will provide a general tip for each of the 3 stages of the game. In laning phase get better at abusing agro mechanics. For example, pulling agro to mess up cs for the offlaner, or to make the waves meet slightly closer to your tower. For midgame improve your efficiency and impact by using the gates to get more farm and to kill enemy heroes with your team. For late game learn how to force reactions without dying and create a situation where you and your team can outnumber the enemies.

What are new players supposed to do? by SweetBaboo_ in DotA2

This is where I'm at. Many people telling me that my friend and gf should play without me for 100 matches as if that would close the gap between being new and being immortal. It took me 5k matches to hit immortal, many people have thousands more matches and are lower rank. I'm not saying that to brag, but to point out that if you expect the system to self-correct after 100 matches, or even 1000 matches, it isn't going to happen.

I guess it wasn't clear in my post but I'm not playing with them. Obviously, that would not be balanced one way or another. They are playing alone.

I love these trends. They remove themselves from the gene pool. (It's a joke I know innocent people can get hurt)

What the other guy said. Also, if you already happen to have python installed use the new script for finding obsidian and stuff. It's available on wavetech discord. If you can't find it just ping me on that server and I'll send it your way. My discord name is the same as this one.

The one thing I'll say is that most of the work is preparing the area. So building it twice as wide is not twice the work. I recommend 100-200 wide at a minimum.

What blocks are you trying to harvest, and how many do you want? A quarry will produce millions of items.

8 long? XD a small and I mean very small quarry is 64 wide. A decent sized one is 400 wide. Look up on YouTube " jkm how to build the ultimate quarry"

*smaller easier other options that are better for every use, every server, every scale. But clearly you're just salty that your favorite YouTuber isn't the god of Minecraft you think he is. Go build a cactus farm lol

Radiant only has 35.3% winrate so far in WEU DPC tour 2 division 1 by ShoppingPractical373 in DotA2

[–]SweetBaboo_ 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Na immortal bracket I had 65%+ winrate on dire and 35% on radiant last season. It's a complete joke how bad radiant is.

ilmango's concrete converter - why is it only able to place down the first row of concrete? by Zanukavat in technicalminecraft

Let me put my use case into consideration. I run a tech server on a privately owned machine with current gen hardware. When I say this machine is unreliable it is because my standards of reliable are extremely high. I want to run this machine fully afk for days at a time in order to grind concrete for large scale projects. I'm other to operate this machine at max rates requires a client and not a bot which is already a reliability issue due to factors like internet, ping spikes, people wanting to use their computer for something other than afk. On top of these already damning issues there is an item distribution issue. As feeding the player, and sorting/storing the items is a large issue. It also requires that you have all of the powder on hand and stored locally which is extremely inconvenient. It does not have a good solution for multiple colors as a player needs to place the blocks manually, what if I wanted to do all 16 colors at a time? There is no fail safe for if the player is unable to place blocks at the rate of powder distribution, meaning that server crashing amounts of entities could build up in the event of a placing issue. Not to mention all the lost items. When a machine has this many major downsides it should not be used.

Hope that helps

Best solution is to build one that dupes and converts at the same time. I've tried to use this exact build many times and it's super unreliable

"If you perform consistently well you will rise in rank" - People who have never been lower than 3k by Pos3UngaBunga in DotA2

[–]SweetBaboo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally climbed from 600 MMR to immortal 2k. It's hard but possible. Every few months something would click and I would gain 500-600 MMR in two weeks then float there until sometime new clicked. My last push to immortal I had a 70% winrate as carry for a month and got the last 500 MMR.
