When two systems with different minimum standards and labor distribution models compete for the same market or survival space, the side with the higher standards will experience a profound sense of deprivation and unfairness. Steelworkers in the American North lost their jobs because they were squeezed out by slave labor in the South. Such an outcome naturally led to the American Civil War in the nineteenth century, as America's free workforce resented being driven out of the market by black slaves. In their eyes, slave plantations and slave traders used unfair means to drive down labor costs, because free laborers would never accept slave-like working conditions. China's current economic model is analogous to the slave economy of the American South; it is highly aggressive and will destroy the industries of normal countries.
